my buddy has a speed6. car was running fine. hes driving around town and then car wont go over 2000rpm. now the cars been sitting for 2 days and starts, but will stall after about 5 seconds. any ideas? if both sensors were bad, wouldnt the car still run...just not efficiently? im asking.....

Yea i had a prob once on my rx7 and the result was the maf plug wasnt pluged in all the way and fell out causeing it to stall and shut off

i had the second o2 go bad on mine. car started and ran, but very choppily. i needed to give it gas to keep it from sputtering out. once over 3-4k it ran fine, but stopping and shifting was not pretty.

Are you able to pull error codes with a DH or code reader?

Typically the O2 sensor requires a value of >1volt for a period of 120s or more. I believe it monitors every 100-250ms, so it could have just been some bad gas and its cleaned up by now. Another possibility is that you've got a shorted wire, so once you get a better idea of where to look, check your wiring. That would give you a consistently high value.

i dont have one yet. i am looking into one. he does have an ap on the way. maybe that will tell him what his problem is. i really do appreciate the feedback. thanks alot. he did just get the motor replaced so hes hoping that it is just that. again it ran for the weekend and then started acting up. mech said the sensors were scratched up pretty bad and that he should replace them right away. maybe they werent plugged in tightly as suggested above.
