NWOR SCCA club event interest

Pro solo is the best of 3 runs I believe. I'm down for that as well, but there is a extra entry fee of like $130.

That would be a National Tour, which is the best of 3 runs, on 2 days. 6 runs total, your best run from each day counts. Pro Solo is 12 runs (8 on Saturday, 4 on Sunday) minimum, then a bracket round for the class winners / qualifiers, starting at a round of 32 iirc? And it goes and goes until there is but one.

I don't think that would be the best day to do the club event. But if there is a bunch of people going we could get a little Mazda paddock section going.

No, it wouldn't. There's just so much going on at a Tour or Pro that it wouldn't make a fun atmosphere for this kind of event. The local clubs also have a lot less flexibility with what they can do at these, because SCCA National pretty much takes over running the show.

I by no means suggest doing our little mazda gathering/race at one of those events. You would never really see anyone else. I was just saying I was going to be ther if anyone else was going to be in that area. Usually there are 3-4 seperate airport events so I'll just have to keep a look out for the date and race sites to see if there is any updates.

I like the Airport but the events at the Chysler Plant are also fun and I think they are less heavely attended, so we could get more runs and grouped together more easily. As far as trying to do this event at a Pro Solo/ Tour event they are way to hectic.

The plan wasn't to do the pro solo event or Toledo tour, but just one of the normal airport events that we have in the NWOR SCCA. Usually just a few more cars than the Chysler events, weather depending. The airport is way more fun because of the concrete compared to black top. We should still get around 5-6 runs. Just depends on how many of us and other show up. If you guys are down for that event that is fine too, but the airport is a way better venue and surface to race on and usually fast. Last year they had a straight where cars were getting up to 70-80mph which is unheard of in autocross events.

Sounds good I will be there!!

Looks like the NWOR SCCA schedule is up as of 3 days ago.

Yep I justsaw it last night when I was at work. I asked them to notify me, but well that never happened. Oh well. Not all of the events are up yet, but with the airport they usually have to have that set way in advanced. The TEA (Toledo Express Airport) events are as followed:

1) June 3

2) August 26

For now these are the only set dates for the airport that are actual events and not a challenge or Toledo Pro Solo event. I keep you guys posted whenever I find out any more on the schedule. Usually by the end of Feb or beginning of March everything is set so people can start planning their weekends.

I think either of those dates would work. June 3 conflicts with a NASA event at Grattan, not sure how many people would be going to that though.

So there has been another update on the NWORSCCA website. Looks like date for the TEA are on:
June 3rd
July 15th
August 26th
September 16th

There is still an open event date and a TBA event. I'm guessing one of those events would be at the tiffin mall.

Totally understandable. I'm down for whatever event we can get the most people out to and have a great time.

So is the Aug 26th date ok with everyone? There is no Grand Am, American LeMans, or NASA that weekend. There is a NORA event and car show that weekend, but that seems to be the best weekend for our Mazda meet/autoX event with the NWOR SCCA.

Hopefully this works out and have a big turnout with those of us Mazda owners from the forum and around the NWOR area. Should be a great time. If this date works out I'll see if we can get a sign up stickied and get the ball rolling.
