Anyone Planning on attending the American Road Race of Champions? The schedule for sunday (Nov. 13th) is:
8:30am Group 9 - 20 minute qualifying
Group 10 - 45 minute Enduro Qualifying
Lunch No Race Car Engines running during lunch break -10.00am until 12:30pm
12:30 pm 20 lap (or 40 minutes) ARRC Pro Shootout Group 9 , followed by 3hour Enduro Group 10

Sunday tickets are $15, +$5 per vehicle for parking. Seeing as there's a 2.5 hour lunch break, I'm thinking abt getting there arnd 11:30 for Group 9 and Enduro Races.

Who's in?

EDIT: If y'all want, we can meet / eat at the wendy's dn the road, and then roll in together. Also, I'm planning on sitting up by turn 5 - 6 (spectator hill if I'm not mistaken).

Alright, there's at least 1 person cooler than the rest of y'all ;)

I'll be there all weekend, sun-up to sun-down. Stop by the paddock and say hi. Red Spec Miata #79, Orange RX-7, Yellow Spec Miata...I'll let you guys know where we paddock.

Cool, we'll be there cheering u on. U driving? Which car?

No driving, I'm crewing that weekend. Setting up cars. Repairing damage. Making up excuses for the drivers on their poor performance. etc....

That's roxxorz lol. Let us know where ur at tho, I'll come by!

I'll see what I can do. If I can work out some sort of ear/noise protection for Lucas, maybe we'll all make it!

Is there info on who/what's racing?

Yeah, clicky linky. That's actually on the ATL SCCA website. It's got schedules and run groups. Get him earplugs ;)...and nose plugs (those things swimmers use) lol. Jk. Y'all need to come out tho!

EDIT: HAHAHAHA, I read NOSE protection LMAO. I figured it can smell pretty crummy at a race if ur not used to it! High Octane + No Cats + Burnt Rubber = gross the first time arnd

I can get you plenty of ear plugs if you want them, I don't know what level of protection you need, they are the foam plugs you roll up and insert into the canal with a plastic string between the two, they are individually wrapped and never used before, I can snag them from work, if you want just PM me your address again and I'll mail 'em out to you.

Yeah, you may want to get some of those...it gets pretty loud on the AARC Enduro. Like I said at the meet: 1 Spec Miata, not that loud. 15 SM's bunched up in the Turn 10 complex, REALLY loud

Thanks for the offer, Scott. I've actually got a huge pack of earplugs, and was handing them out at the PLM, it's just that I'm not sure what Lucas (age 5 months) is going to think of them!

I did see a lady at the PLM with her tiny baby, she put in earplugs, then wrapped a scarf around the kid's head, over her ears, to keep her from pulling them out. That might work, we'll have to try it before we try to go.

I'll have to see what the wife is up to that weekend. Law school frequently destroys her weekends.

I keep picturing the wee guy with those big shooter ear protection headphone thingies on his noggin. I don't know if his little neck could support the weight!

HAHAHAHA. That reminds me of the first time I auto-xed. I hadn't ever really worn a real helmet (at least, not in recent times), and so I'm sitting on the grid, and I pop that sucker on (it's a full face too, so that didn't help either) and like, my head just flops forward, like my neck said "wtf is this crap" lol. It was really strange until I got used to it...
