well... NY is a bit far, but I wouldn't shy away from any friendly race, however, my car is and will be rediculously UN-setup for drag.... I dunno... I REALLY have to sort out my tranny plans before and real drag racing goes on... I would place a bet that I could do a peg-leg burnout for an entire 1/4 mile.... lol
Didn't mean for this thread to be a "my daddy can kick your daddy's ass" threads. I never drove an srt before today, and I was just giving my 1st impressions. Doesn't really matter who's car is better than the other, it just matters how much you like your car, and feel comfortable with it. Either way, the cars are $20k. You pay for what you get. I personally am waiting til next summer, and I will be in a G35 coupe (my favorite car right now). Or, perhaps the new supra coming out in a year or two.

Couldnt agree with you more. Because I havent had any problems with my car. Treat her well and she'll treat you well. Eh adding an extra $1200 for Rods and pistons isnt too much. No more then Mopar Stage 2 suspention/coilovers. And you really dont need the pistons. Just weld your LSD (about $400). And buy some nice billet rods (Oliver)...should be under $2K and you will have a pretty strong engine. If you buy the MA Motorsport set up it should be just as strong if not stronger then the SRT-4. Only advantage the SRT-4 would have is torque. Remember you can always build a engine up...you can't fix inheritted flaws in a car's chasis.03MSPRO said:

Lets see where the high hp SRT-4 stand compared to a slower Lotus Elise, MP3 and MSP....
. It would be interesting to see 2 car with same specs...boost level and comparable hp do in a all round test. 0-60, 60-0, gs, sloam, 1/4mile, small road course and etc.
All in good fun....

My stock MSP lost to a stock SRT-4 the other day. A couple of times. It was all in good fun.
But it was a straight line only. And I hadnt jerked off yet so there was extra weight in the car. And if I had (insert list of mods here) I would've smoked him.

drove an srt4 myself the other day
Didn't like it. I thought I was going to love the rush and immediately want to trade in my MSP. That didn't happen, as I much prefer the way my car rides, sounds, and feels. I did test a WRX and was very impressed with it, but not enough to trade in my baby. I don't live on a drag strip and I doubt any of you do either (although you may spend more time there than me). I love my MSP I don't think it will blow up and I've got an idea of where about $3000 (Injen, FMIC, turbo back exhaust, hardpipes and Greddy BOV) will make me very happy with my car for a very long time. So I'd have a fast car that I love and I'd still have morons come up to me and ask me what my car is. (some idiot that other day asked if it was a Porsche!?!) I don't think you'd get that reaction with a Neon.
The only car made right now that I'd consider is the Evo. 100K warranty (no mods) and you can get them with teen miles for $23,000! Maybe there will be something else in a few years, but nothing I've seen/driven yet.

Threadjack: I am going to shave my trunk and remove the spoiler. Then no one will know what it is. I will leave the Mazda symbol on the trunk that is it. I saw a blue wrx that was shaved and had gunmetal wheels with a polished lip on my lunch break. Omfg soo sex.
