Nose Mask/Bra Q's

Hey, to all of those that have a front end cover, I was wondering if you have had any problems with it causing rub marks on the paint of the car. I do not want it for all year use, but am considering buying one for the wife's P5 if she continues to drive it to work this winter. I am hoping that it will protect it from salt and stone's chipping the paint on her 55 mile drive to work. Yuck!! Thanks in advance for any replies.

I'd like to know as well. I need it for the road trips up the coast and throughout Florida, as the bugs are BIG and plenty when driving down the highway and turnpike.

Just put a front mask on. Only plan on keeping it on for long trips to help battle the rocks, bugs, etc. I personally like the look and the installation is quick and easy. Can't really talk about the paint wear as it's too soon to tell.

I would recommend getting the front mask.It will save your paint from lots of chips. My front end still looks like the day i took it from the dealer. One thing i must tell you is that you should take it off once a week and clean under it frequently. Use some really good wax on your car and you'll be ok. Check out the pic with my ride and her mask

yeah, unless the wife (or yourself) is devoted to keeping the area under the bra/mask clean, I wouldn't use it in the winter. I thought the spiffy looking Mazda embroldered bra would be great protection for winter....when in fact I later found out that it'll trap the salt to the car, which is not kewl for the thin ass paint. Luckly I didn't drive with the bra on in the winter, found out beforehand :)

I had one for my other car, and let me tell you that the only thing that I'd put on my car would be that clear 3m protectant tape. The bra gets dirty as hell, I'd take the mask off once a week at the very least........

Where you strap the bra around the wheel well, the tires always kick up the dirt and you can't keep the thing cleaned.....I never really had a problem with getting big chunks of dirt stuck under it, but when I'd take the bra off every week, there was a black outline across the hood where the bra was, and the itty bitty sand particles would scratch the car. They weren't deep scratches, but you could see them.....the swirls. The paint will fade if you use the "traditional" bra, and it really doesn't do any good.

I think of a bra as more of a show accessory because it looks really cool, but doesn't do anything beneficial for your car except scratch it.

Well, she is not the greatest at keeping the car clean, especially in the cold and our schedules are so different, it is too hard for me to keep after her about it. Hmmm, decisions decisions. Thanks for the suggestions though guys, I will think it over. Hopefully she will just be able to adjust to driving my Civic HB (spare car) for the winter. No happy creature features, but it should be great for the winter.

You should get a plastic bug shield for the front. It looks good, doesn't rattle or flap, and does a good job of blocking the rocks. Doesn't trap crap against the paint either. Bra's are just a hassle to put on and take off (both kinds)...not that I'd know about putting them on.:)
