Norco Mazda has me hopping mad!

Went to Norco Mazda today and had their service department look over my car, brand new MS6 with 500 miles on the odometer. I advised them I wanted the clutch adjusted, the CEL looked at, and to look into my loss of power in the car. It feels really slow as compared to my friends MS3 and even compared to my 2007 Audi 2.0T which has 74 HP less and weigh about the same.

First, let me say my service advisor is an A-hole and I will not be bringing my car back to them. No offense to the dealer as a whole, but their service department is seriously lacking in technical ability.

The service advisor told me that there is no way to adjust the clutch since its hydraulic. I printed off and showed him the thread that shows how to do it and he advised if I modified the clutch I would be violating the warranty!!! WHAT!!! You MUST be joking!

Secondly, he said the CEL was not stored since I reset the battery. So, next time it comes on I guess I need to drop everything I am doing and drive straight there. Pshhhht. Whatever. let me stop my life to visit the freaking dealer........ I don't think so.

Lastly, he denied that their is a TSB regarding loss of power and said that I didn't need to update my PCM. Funny thing is, he didn't even look to see what revision I was running. Basically, he ignored me and offered a free car wash and said if I have any other issues to "come on back". Right. I will do that........ NOT!

So, anyone in the So Cal area that knows of a COMPETENT dealer. Can you make a recommendation please! My car doesn't seem to be running right, I just dropped an a$$ load of cash on it (4000.00 cash plus the 2500.00 rebate) only to get a slug with a bright yellow CEL and a stiff clutch that "cannot" be adjusted.

Needless to say. I am starting to wish purchased a different car. :(

You bought a brand new '07 Speed 6? If it's the '07, it has the new clutch, and the latest firmware flash. If it's an '06 it will most likely have the firmware reflashed before you bought it.

Secondly, don't disconnect your battery when you get a CEL. How are they supposed to help you if you delete the code? As long as there aren't any driveability issues you can drive your car normally with a CEL, unless it's flashing then pull over. You can also stop at most AutoZone's and get their CEL reader and pull the code.

If you want the clutch adjusted, do it yourself. It's not hard.

i agree with chris and his response

as far as dealers, i don't have much input as most don't like my car. but for a stock car, i've heard a few have decent experiences throughout socal.

Well, that's what I meant. I have a 2006 and got the powerloss reflash which seems to have done more damage than good.

yikes. time to find a new dealer. i hate it when advisors are assholes. then again, i usually put them in their place first thing. which they dont normally take too kindly to, since i'm female.

A lot of dealers suck at figuring it out, they see a lot of people that aren't very car smart every day so they get tired of all the diag. they get the "If the CEL's not on their isn't a problem" syndrome. You can drive with the CEL on and not have a serious problem, most of the time it's an emissions code, and the car may lose power after the CEL has been on. Ask to speak to the service manager, tell him that you are being ignored and you feel that you are having a serious problem with the car, also speak to your salesman and tell him you are not happy with service. If you still aren't happy take your buisness elsewhere, they get paid to check your car whether you pay for it or mazda does.

I've had a good/bad relationship with Norco Mazda. Ive taken my car to them several times already (Brake pulsing noise *was told my rotors were warped and there is nothing they can do about it other than have me buy new rotors*,CEL-Purge Solenoid Valve, Broken rear diff bracket, CEL-Purge Solenoid Valve again, CEL-Purge Solenoid Valve once again *finally replaced with updated part*, New clutch/ flywheel, Updated clutch pedal (from clutch tsb)). Denise, assistant service advisor, is the only cool one there. The top cap on my shift knob had become loose and Denise had the whole shift knob replaced for free. Bob, the service manager, is somewhat of a dick. I have had problems with my car since the day I bought it. I am the second owner and I believe the first owner must have really abused it. Anyway, I have had many problems with my clutch. It didn't grab right, it always seemed to slip, plus it was quite a bit heavier than the other 2006 Speed6's. I had complained about the clutch to the dealer several times but they said they couldn't do anything about it. The clutch had went out at 13k miles (only 1k miles over the 12k wear and tear warranty), so I was forced to pay for a new clutch and flywheel out of my own pocket. A week later, the clutch tsb came out. So I printed out a copy and took it to the dealer to see if I could get the rest of the parts for the tsb and also get a refund for the clutch and flywheel. I had to fight with Bob (service manager) and the regional mazda rep over a period of a week to give me the refund for the clutch and flywheel. They finally agreed to refund my money. It took almost 2 months to get a refund check from Mazda NA which isn't located too far from me. Recently, my second gear went out. I had to drive a whole day to work and home (in traffic) unable to shift into second gear. I decided to take my car to Romero Mazda in Ontario, who just became a mazdaspeed certified dealer, because I didn't want to deal with Bill at Norco. I dropped my car off and sat in the waiting room while the service techs checked out my car. It took them 4 hours just to tell me there was something wrong with my transmission (NO s***!!!). They wouldn't tell me what the exact problem was. They said they have already ordered new parts. I was given a Mazda3 HERTZ rental and sent on my way. It has been almost a month now and I still don't have my car back. Apparently the parts are backordered.

Im ||<----this close to just getting another car.
