Noob chick from sd!

yeah the oil change places hate our cars because of all the plastic and bolts...watch them like a hawk

yeah, the bf always did the oil changes in the truck.. but the 3 sits too low to the ground.. unlike the truck that was 10 ft in the air.. lol but yeah they were closed today so monday they are fixxingg it for sure!

I urge you to buy from the members before looking around other sites. You will find great deals and make friends along the way. MazMart Girlie and you should hang out sometime tho. I bet that would be a riot!

Good luck with the snatch. Take real good care of it. Keep it washed, waxed and lubricated. It bring you years of pleasure. LOL

yeah i know about that! but i will say the last time i bought something from a fellow titan member my truck was totalled the next day! =( lol but i always try to help out fellow forum members! and trust me, i hateeee a dirty car! and ill always keep her lubed up.. =)

Congrats on the new ride and welcome to the site too. (Black leather in SD??)
FYI: That color is Titanium Gray Mica. IIRC, that color was discontinued in '06.
With the roof, you also then got the Bose 6-disc system too, unless it's been aftermarketed by now? They came as a package deal only.

Why not keep the wheels stock and get new ones? It could be cheaper and then you would be able to go back to stock should you want to. Plus the OE's are 6.5" which kinda' limit what rubber you can run.

Thanks for the info! Yes I havbe the 6disk with the sunroof which is nice, but I can't remember anything so I never know what cd is where! Lol and eventually I'm going to get new rims and tires... but right now isn't the time... plus the tires already on there are good tires in good shape, plus we are buying new rims and tires for the gto soon...

Btw nice car!! And yes I actually live outside of san diego (where it gets even hotter) but I'm from vegas originally so once I get tint it won't be a problem!

Agreed.
Not really a nice thing to say or attitude to take, Red. You might want to lay off the public come on.

Thanks 05snatch!! It's been a slow journey, but she's coming along the way I first envisioned her to be..

Oh I know how that is! I had a stock titan for 6 months, sold it for a 4x4, leveled it with 33s and rims, had that for 1 1/2 and then finally was able to have my lifted truck! So I know what its like when you have a pic in your head of what you want but it takes a while to get it there.... but I think the people who do all the mods they want at once get bored quicker.... one or two mods at a time keep you interested!

yeah, the bf always did the oil changes in the truck.. but the 3 sits too low to the ground.. unlike the truck that was 10 ft in the air.. lol but yeah they were closed today so monday they are fixxingg it for sure!

Um...floor jack and jack stands. :D

Oh BTW....Welcome and nice looking snatch you have there. lol

I'm with you there, blinduno! But it's not that I'm poor (not rich either,) just married and have a house w/land.
AND the biggest thing is that my wife is not into cars as I am so she to her it's all a waste of time and money.
Technically she's right of course, but its a hobby and it makes me happy when the car looks good or run well.

As for oil changes, if that's all I'm doing, I just run the car up on ramps and have a big enough hole in the splash shield that I don't have to remove it to get the filter off. AND (<< there's that AND again,) I converted to the spin-on filter which makes life a lot easier, if not cleaner too.

05snatch, here's what you ned to do, after you enlarge the splash shield hole....

It's cheap and easy to do, then you can install the 2.0L spin-on filter, which BTW also fits the 22hp Briggs and Stratton engine on my John Deere!! :D :D :D (No kidding.)

yeah i feel bad for you guys, i have always been into cars.. so im not the " DONT SPEND SO MUCH ON YOUR CAR, YOUR SLEEPING ON THE COUCH " kinda girl...

as for the ramps i need to get some but the gto sits too low to the ground we gotta find some that wont mess up the front bumper...

and ill deff have to look into that... but the dealership i bought the car from.. gives you $10 bucks off an oil change just because you bought a car from them so i may take advantage of that ( they also wash your car for free mon-fri 8am-5pm so i may just do a two in one day.. lol

I use ramps with my 3 and I had problems when I first got my ramps. They were hitting my front bumper. I attached pieces of wood to the end of my ramps and it made them just clear the bumper. My ramps are steel with holes for traction. I just bolted the pieces of wood to the end through these holes. Also you may not want to powder coat your rims if you have good tires, or you may want to wait till you get new tires. You have to remove the tires or anything that can melt. Then you have to have them media blasted to remove the current paint. Then they coat them with a dry paint compound and run them through an oven. So you will have to pay to get the tires removed and put back on as well as the whole powder coat process. The cheapest I could find for powder coating my rims here in WI was about $79/rim which didn't include the removal or mounting of the tires. Also if you have tpms on your car they have to be removed and most places will recommend replacing the seals for the tpms when they are reinstalled. This turns a fairly cheap process into a fairly expensive endeavor. I have opted to have mine just painted like any body panel would be painted. I just haven't had the time/money to do it yet.

Hope that helps,
Josh

These are nice but REALLY expensive for what your paying for...
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BTI-RR-56-2/?rtype=10

you may be able to find a similar design elsewhere though

i like those, but the GTO sits really pretty low to the ground, so that my biggest problem, is not knowing for sure that it will work... ( he has the SAP package ) basically a $3000 body kit ( bought the car with it, didnt choose it lol )

joshritger - i know what you mean about powdercoating them, but i have a hook up.. 250 to remove the tires, powdercoat them, then mount and balance them... which is not bad compaired to buying new rims... lol

Hmm, that isn't too bad for all 4 rims. I have the tpms which cost $15 bucks extra a rim for the gasket kit. It really sucked because I used to work at a place that has a powder coating paint line, but they wouldn't let us have anything powder coated for personal use. In regards to the plastic shield that fell off, have you looked at corksports website, they have an aluminum replacement which has the hole in the correct spot for the oil filter removal and it goes farther back also and mounts to the frame behind the transmission.
