it looks like the rebates are gone :(

there's a dealer near me that still has a few MSPs, just wondering if anyone thinks the rebates will be coming back ever?

Really? My buddy is looking into a Protege ES and the webpage still showed the $2500 rebate or 0% APR. I don't know about the dealer incentives though.

carsdirect.com doesn't show any rebates for the MSP

well, nevermind then!

I assume the factory-to-dealer cash is over though?

Not sure. I'll probably be going to the dealer with my friend tomorrow and I'll get a report for ya on what is and isn't being offered anymore.

cool

I just wish the dealer with the remaining MSPs hadn't pissed me off last time I went in there looking

Yes, the value will definitely go back up as more people wreck them and they become more rare. Just have patience.

Anyone who thinks the value of these vehicles will go up is fooling themselves. It is a car - it will depreciate.

The RATE of decline, fortunately, should inevitably slow.

yeh but the rate of decline isnt from the price u paided for the car ...its based off retail...always is...if it was based off rebated etc we would all have differen value cars.......the decline goes off the $21000 or $20500 retail price

I like to think that too. Yes yes everyone go test your 60-0 braking time and slalom in traffic mwuahahhahaha(laugh) (laugh) (laugh) (laugh) (laugh)

Sticker price means 0 in determining resale value. We don't all have different value cars because the baseline isn't sticker, its the market price of the car new (rebates included) less depreciation.

Every time a new rebate comes out, it cuts roughly that right off everyone's resale value. You don't wait for it to catch up by depreciating off sticker- its instant.
