no im talking about the mazdaspeed intake/exhaust i dont think they need to repin ....

He's telling you that he has seen a thread with the information you need and it has the word "repin" in it. If you search for it you will find the information you need and will not have to hope you get it here this time.

yea yea... i know but when i search repin i found stuff on repining but like i said theres no repinning involved so y would i need that information...just misunderstanding

cams :

all us proteges have the same intake and exhaust cams. period.

aftermarket cams available are j-spec intake cam and mazdaspeed exhaust cam. there is no such thing as a mazdaspeed intake cam.

the US stock intake cam is the same as a mazdaspeed exhaust cam, so that's why i said repin. what you do is buy a j-spec intake cam, then get the stock intake cam repinned for the exhaust side and there you go.

ok sorry but iam confused agian... oh and btw iam in canada so hope that doesnt change anything right? but anyways so ok here it goes the J-spec intake cams i can still get a hold of... and the mazdaspeed exhaust cams are dicontinued, but RODSCALIP5
gave me a link where i could find some and on the side it saids they have a mazdaspeed intake/exhaust cam package so my main question was should i get the package or just get the j-spec and mazdaspeed exhaust cams... and again sorry

buying mazdaspeed cams are like buying stock one you jsut replaced with the jspec from what he says^^^^ i honestly didnt know that, but still i believe him he is N/A man in my book, so what you do is you buy the j spec tehn have the intake, that you removed, repined to be your exhaust cam. Buying a mazda speed exhaust came is like replacing you exact same cam you jsut took out.

better to ask questions now then have a useless camshaft later.

protegespeed - shaneracing are a bit renouned for bending the truth. i've picked them up on that several times. personally, i wouldnt trust them 1 little bit. and from what i understand, their mazdaspeed exhaust cam that they are selling is just a repinned stock intake cam....

senor - the only difference between the mazdaspeed exhaust cam and the repinned stock intake cam is that the repinned intake cam still has the original hole in it. the mazdaspeed exhaust cam has the correctly positioned pin from the factory

all - another option would be to buy two j-spec intake cams and use one of them as an exhaust cam... but really if you're going to go this far you might as well get custom cams

ok ok ic oh and i was thinking custom but i have no clue in what i would have to do... and i live in a smaller city (calgary canada) would most shops beable to custom my cams?

"most" machine shops should be able to take care of it...You need to do a lot of research before you go the custom route...and figure on what you are doing to the car overall...proper cam specs change with mods made to the engine, try to view the final cams used as a "completion" to your total built engine...

But either way, you will notice better high end power with just the ZE J-spec intake cam...The exhaust cams make less of a difference, but definately help with any exhaust system mods...

oh ic.. well iam going all out NA headers intake exhaust manifold cams (still dont know all about NA moding hopeing ill learn from u guys) i dont wanna spend TO much money lam hoping for a 50 whp maybe i dunno around there. any suggestions would be nice thanks
