I don't think they're dumb, just hurting a lot more than in areas where apparently people are willing to spend more than they have to.

maybe your right and they are most likely getting the money back from the consumer via outrageous add-ons like window etching over priced non factory extended warranties and clerical charges. Hell I have even seen dealers charge for new car prep on the Bill of Sale even though manufacturers pay the dealer to do it.

Well I can say that they got nothing additional from me and I think I got a decent (not smoking) deal. The only thing that I payed beyond sales tax, title and license was a $55 processing fee on top of the negotiated price.

Ok: I did it. I just purchased CX-9 AWD touring, with Moon roof package, roof rack and cross bars, It also came with the wheel locks. And it's the color that I was looking for (Blue). Picking it up Monday, July 6. Biglou. The $1000.00 rebate that the dealer in N.J. was going to give, Sound B/S or he or she was quoting you, if you have owned one in the past. If you live on Long Island, I would call 631 424-8200 and ask Howie (sales manager) for a pricing. The man, will tell you the facts or all the B/S that dealer pull to get sales. Think I'm late to the party, but Manhattan Mazda is usually where you will get the best deals. It is a Ford factory store. My company does all advertising so I got the employee pricing, but they were def the best pricing against, manhassat, countrywide, & woodside.

Woodside is STILL calling me...AND I told them I bought a mazda already....eeesh

Just picked-up my White CX-9 AWD GT (GT Assist & Moon roof) last friday in NJ. It seems there is a shortage on these cars. My car came from a dealer in the Pittsburg, PA area. My only other option was to wait 2 -3 more weeks for the last shipment of 2009 CX-9 or wait for the 2010.

So far - I ame VERY happy with my purchase. Great Ride
