Craziest Nissan Skyline yet

Nissans NISMO folks are launching the craziest version of the mighty R34 Skyline GT-R, the Z-tune. Z-tune fea-tures 500 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque from a totally reworked 2.8-liter race-bred engine (up from a 2.6-liter). Other modifications include carbon fiber front bumper, hood, front fenders and chassis reinforcements. We hear theyre building only 20 of these for worldwide sale and they go on sale Dec. 20 for $166,000. call NISMO overseas sales department (tel. 011 81-3-3767-1930) for more info.

nissan should have kept that model around long enough to bring it here
500hp and 400lb-ft of torque! Yummie but not for $166,000 thru.

Anyone got a tissue...wait...I'll need the whole box!

I like the mean stance on the "Z-Tune"

Got #'s? 0-60, 1/4, top speed etc?

oh its only 166k dollars...
And that's probably a US conversion of Japanese prices. Then you'd have to try and get it imported? No thanks. Motorex could get you a stock GTR and you could build your own for that price...

I should have brought an older skyline back with me from Japan. They are awesome cars (modding it would have been fun). No way I could afford one of those though. I bet you that car is lighter than the U.S. cars that are putting down ~500hp. Don't discount Japanese engineering. Plus, they don't have the standards that the U.S. does to make a car street legal.

yes, I will be selling my parents house and we will be moving into the new GT-R when it comes out.

Time to get the Black AMEX card out :D
haha Doesn't that card have a free chauffer service anywhere in the world 24/7. I was gonna sell a few body parts to get the cash myself.

wow. I thought the r34 was over. I'm glad to see they're giving one last ha-rah to a great car. However, for that price I too would build my own :D

I dunno, if I had the cash in hand I'd rather buy that car then buy a rotorex used car and be without it for 6-10 months while it gets imported, converted, modified, registered, etc....

on a side note, i was reading that japanese carmakers have agreed to dump the 276HP agreement. honda officially broke it by releasing the 300HP acura RL. next will be the lexus rx400h with 300HP, then mazda is set to release a 300HP 2-seat rx-7. the new nsx will have 400 and the new supra will have around 400 aswell.
