NGK Extended Reach Spark Plugs

I think I tricked club plug.net, who only sells boxes of 10 plugs. When ordering, in the quanitity field, if you only want four plug, just put .4 as the QTY, .4 of 10 in a box is 4 plugs. The price even goes down to 16.95 shipped in the US. =)

second to last plug on the list. Remember this is 2 ranges colder than stock, so I only suggest these range of plugs for turbo or nitrous applications.

Does anyone know what car uses the ZFR7F-11 plugs as stock plugs? I hate it when I go to advance auto and they want to know what car the plugs are for and then when I tell them to try to find them they never can.

Let's start hearing some reviews on the plugs once you have them in!
Hey Linux,

It was great to meet you while you were here in So Cal. We are running the extended plugs gapped at .30 and are performing good. BTW we have the new rods and Lower Mazda compression pistons. Now we can run 17 psi with no detonation on 91 octane fuel with this combination of lower compression and Haltech E6X. Car feels faster than ever.(wiggle)

Today we were hitting 20 psi on 100 unleaded fuel and the plugs are good.
For lower boost levels there should not be a problem.

Juan

I should be getting mine friday. I will tell when i get them.

I have been running 10-12psi latley, Should i go with the .30 gap or stay at .28 where i have been at.

been there... 10-12psi with the ZFR7F-11 with the gap as is.

Car runs smoother! Cold starts is better, boosting is just a bit more aggressive, well, I was able to go from 14.9 to 14.7 @ 7psi.

@10-12psi with an FMU, fuel delivery is not stable, sometimes it detonates, sometimes dont.

Great meeting you too Juan! That's pretty impressive what yall are doing over in SoCal. Keep it up! Those plugs are awesome!

P.S. Not sure if many folks know this, but Juan is NOT some young, snotty-nosed little punk with no experience in tunning. He's been around the block so to speak in tunning, and knows his s***.

OK.... I picked up a set of

ZFR5F-11 (extended reach) And BKR5E-11

I need the "hotter" versions, as colds starts are more of an issue in Toronto. Plus I run 94 octane and lower compression, so I am not as concerened about detonation at 8psi.

Question.... the ZFR5F-11 and the ZFR5J-11...what is the difference?
Hey YP5, where did you get the plugs from in T.O. ? And how much ?
Please shoot me a PM.
Thanks
Mike

I sent this to NGK today:

========================================
Make: Mazda

Model: MazdaSpeed Protege

Year: 2003

Engine Type: 4 cyl. DOHC turbo (iron block / alum head)

Comments: I want to get the ZFR7F-11 plugs for my car, but they are copper. Do you make them in Iridium or Iridium-IX versions? Is there another plug you would recommend for my car? I have heard that the extended reach plugs work great for my engine, and I need a cold plug with a good life span so I can turn up the boost! Thanks.

=========================================

And this is what they said:

=========================================
Hello,
You can use a BKR7EIX stock number 2667. The extend projected ZFR series isn't available in a 7 heat range.

So they are saying that you can't get an extended reach plug with a 7 heat rating. Linux, are you sure that's what you have, or does this guy not know what he's talking about?

My reply:

"My friend said that he has the extended reach plugs with a heat rating of 7. He said the stock number is 2975."

NGK reply:

"That spark plug is a v-power design and not recommended for the application. This could directly affect engine performance and ignition performance."

12psi feels real nice, just cant hit full boost in wet condition..traction is a b**** :)
i have yet to hear any detonation/pinging and the car runs a consistant AFR in the 11's

My plugs just came in today. (wiggle)
