Newbie with MSP

yea i've got holes in my stock pillar too.

I dont... I ran the wires down the apillar... since I didnt know how long the pod would be up there... But I wouldnt drill holes anyway... I dont like the apillar pod so I mounted it elsewhere, on the stearing colomn.

It's stock right now. I found out that Wofo Speed here on the board used to own it and it looks like he had some mods and probably reemed the s*** out of it. I did a carfax before I bought the car and knew it had been in two accidents, but I saw a post he made on here about how it happened. He sounds like a real winner. Did 80 in a neighborhood and lost control through a curve. Ay yi yi. Sooo let's hope I don't have any major problems out of it. Luckily my boyfriend is a mechanic though.

As for future mods, there probably won't be many. It's just my pretty daily driver. :) The only thing I have in mind at the moment is a BOV and possibly a boost gauge.

It is a small MSP world we live in, I've seen many people join the forum after buying one that someone else on here sold. I hope as well that you don't have any major problems with it. It is indeed a great looking daily driver and having a boyfriend who is a mechanic will certainly come in handy. The boost gauge and exhaust are pretty straight forward but to put a BOV on you will either have to relocate the MAF or run a dual BPV/BOV set up. You can find all the info you will need for going either route on here.

he drilled holes into the stock A-pillar???
Yep, there are two ugly holes in it.

What are your thoughts on BPV vs. BOV? From what I've read it sounds like BPVs are better since the air is recirculated. I just love the sound of BOVs lol. (This may be a simple question with a simple answer, but I am somewhat car illiterate. I think I know more than a lot of girls, but I'm still learning. Buying this car has actually made me want to learn even more now.)

i think i will be upgrading the BPV on mine, easy, no hassle with having to cut your intake piping. glad you want to learn more!:)

yeah, mine came with boost gauge, but ended with a snapped rod...if it starts ticking....don't make my mistake of...."oh it's just a valve."

:D

Enjoy!!

I also love the sound of a BOV and so I originally went with the dual BPV/BOV set up so I could have the sound but not have stalling issues. I really didn't like the idea of cutting my pipes and relocating the MAF. This is my first turbo'd car and I knew nothing when i bought it other than it was a lot of fun to drive. Just like you though once I had the car I just wanted to learn more and more and everything I've learned over the years I've learned by reading and asking questions here on the forum. Now I'm going bigger and do believe the BPV only route is the best way because it recirculates all that air. I got the Boostscience RDV with 1" inlets and outlets as well as having a 1" fitting cut and welded on to my intake. If you need help with any of this just let me know. Oh and you already sound like you know more about cars than any girl around my way which is hot so keep it up.

Another pic. ;)
