newbie question

alright, considerin im new to this whole fast car/semi fast car thing (i used to drive a 93 corrola) i was just wondering how hard can one push the mp3? also, are there any dos and donts of driving stick? i can get around fine in my car its just i dunno if im driving it right. so i guess im lookin for tips on driving. :)

same here i just got out of a 97 dodge dakota v6 it was really slow. i push my mp3 pretty hard. i shift late and keep the rpm high. i hope im not beating on it to hard i just like to go fast!!! i think this car is pretty quick. its no rocket but since ive learn to drive stick better i can get it movin pretty quick when i want too.

Well, you can't really be told how to drive a stick, you just gotta learn. For now just try to get good at shifting and learn to shift quick. It is kinda hard to do cause for some reason the MP3 doesn't want to shift fast, I am hoping the short throw shifter I ordered will help that.

As for pushing it to hard, don't worry about it. I have about 7K miles on my car and about 5K of them have been me running the s*** out of it. I tend to drive hard everywhere I go. I did the same thing to my 2000 Eclipse GT stick shift. It had 32K miles on it when I traded it and still ran strong with no problems.

Popping the clutch is bad. It causes damage to the clutch itself and the transmission. It can also weaken the flywheel causing it to shatter while in use.

Hey Banana I know that Fullerton streets can be tough I am originally from Huntington Beach. Just take the shifting easy till you get used to it. Than drive like hell!!!! Later.
