Newbie question about engine mounts

No, the tab does not need to be removed. When installing mine, I had to be a little bit patient and twist/turn/leverage the mounts in and out with those tabs on there. I can see where someone might think they have to bend it in order to get them in and out. However, that wasn't the case for me. It all worked out just fine. It does not affect how the mount tightens down.

My mount is starting to break in a little bit. It was definitely a great add-on. First to second gear, and sometimes second to third gear are 100% comfortable shifts now.

thanks for the input blendercloud!
yeah, i had to use a lil persuasion(<spelling?) to get it in there. and it did reduce 1-2 bang so it must be fine.

still a lotta slop though, especially downshifting. it feels like it could be the trans, driveshaft, rear diff, binding a lil hear and there. so a rear diff mount upgrade is def in the works. and maybe another MM too!

anyone have any input on the other awr MM's. side, tranny, ?

Qwik6 said installing the front motormount was an absolute nightmare. I think I read that he had to take it off for a dealer run and can't bring himself to put it back on. I've also been curious about the transmission mount honestly.

Has anyone else had their car go back to feeling like it did before putting in the dogbone? I put the SU in a few weeks ago and noticed a difference right away, but now it almost feels like the lumps (esp 1 - 2) are back. Did I just get used to it? Is it maybe not tight enough? Anyone had that happen before?

It might have loosened up some after driving, go back and check if its tourqed down. Or you just got used to it and need more now

Might as well get the Full AWR mount set, I have them on, the motor doesnt even flinch anymore. Rock solid is how I like it, vibes arent bad either.

What would be the most noticeable effect after switching out the MM's...? to the driving feel...

I ask because I really hate the 1-2 shift .... all stock on my MS6...

Suddenly, first gear because a useable gear. Suddenly, you don't have to feather the gas after shifting into second and third. Suddenly, you realize that Mazda should have used two rear mounts and a front mount of the stock type if they were concerned about vibration and cabin noise.

Tunersteve was right. He was the person who convinced me to purchase that piece initially. It is worth every penny. I have the CPE rear mount.
