Newb needs help! Anyone?

I'm completely new to modding cars, and I really hope someone will help me. I've been getting ideas from this forum for a while now, but so far all I've done is the interior LEDS and a carbon fiber dash kit.

I want to get some rims and I'm scared because I have no idea what to look for! Or even how to go about doing it. I do know how to change a wheel, so if I were to buy from tirerack or any of those other places that you all use, could I just put those wheels on? It says they are all mounted and balanced. So would that work?

Someone please help me! I know you guys hate people like me but I'd really appreciate it!

Can you change a flat tire? Its just like that to put on a wheel. really easy. I'm not sure what offset you would want to stay with for the mazda 3's.

1) What size rim do you want?
2) What style rim? Mesh, 5 spoke, painted, chrome, polished, black with a chrome lip, ect, ect
3) Is your car lowered or do you plan on lowering it it? if so how much?

going off of what stealthwyvern if you plan on lowering your car i wouldn't go any less then a 42mm offset if you are planning on lowering it i have 42mm offest lowered with an eibach prokit and it rubs in the rear very very rarely. put your car info into tire rack and then narrow it down based on budget and personal choice then start looking at offsets. or you could buy from wheeldude here on the forum he has mazda fitments in a lot of choices.

Thanks alot to both of you guys. Yes I can change a flat that's what I'm saying I just wanted to be sure that if I order from tire rack I can just put them on and that's it.

Btw, let's assume I don't understand the concept of offset?

I wanted to go up to 18 inch.

look it up on tire rack they have great tutorials stock offset is 52mm just fyi.
