hey guys,
i just bought myself a speed3 a month ago, i've already got a CAI from www.cp-e.com and i love it
now my next question to all u gurus out there is, should i look at doin my down-pipe next or should i do a BOV?
or is there a better mod i should be spending my money on???
thx

a bov would mostly be for sound.
It helps the longevity of the turbo's life, but I don't think it's totally necessary. It depends on what you want mostly.
Do you want your car to be faster? or do you want it to make a cool sound when you shift gears.

I agree with numbnuts its up to really..It all depends on what you want for the money. You get a BOV ok so you get sound, no gains in performance at all so there goes what 200 smackers? I would go with the down pipe or test pipe in my personal expiernce, but your also lookin at more money but the up side to the extra cash is you actually gain hp from the install. One other option would be to get you CBE(cat-back exh)..The call is yours good luck.

sorry bear with me here,
i heard if i get a bov, and put it in recirc mode it will actually give me more boost..tru or false?
if it is false i guess ill go with the downpipe from cp-e.com, and then work to the cat-back exhaust
whats the best down-pipe to be using, the cpe one is 585.00
anything else on the market???

ive never heard of anything like that...
it may be able to hold boost better or osmething like that, but it wont turn up the boost.
You could also just get a new bypassvalve that will hold the boost better also... Forge makes an awesome one from what I've heard.

I dont know how I could determine whether the CP-E is the best one, but I know it's one of the better ones. Another option would be the Corksport downpipe with a protege garage race pipe.. I think that comes out to 550 or so from protege garage. Both do pretty much the same thing.

But since you laready have a cpe intake, you may just wanna stick with the same brand.

Yes thats basically more or less what it will do is hold the boost a lil better in between shifts so you dont have as much lag...but really your best bet would be an exhaust and then if you still want it get BOV OR BPV..

It won't give you MORE boost, but it will hold it better. The stock bov won't start leaking until about 20 psi.
If you want more boost get a boost gauge, a mbc(manual boost controler) and the atp boost cut defender. Maximum boost I seen on stock turbo is about 20 psi. If you want a down pipe, the cheapest one is TurboXS. CP-E and corksport cost more but their design is a little better. All dp are good for almost 30 hp.
