New turbo kit available for Protege!

My P5 the way it sits right now cost me nearly as much as a new GT-R!

Trust me, I know! lol...

The couplers aren't from the HiBoost you know, they are from a local PR company that puts out those sort of things that's also called HB. ;-)

CP doesn't deal w HB that I know of.

Would they sell pieces of the kit off? Like the mani and dump tube to be exact. Possibly the thermostat housing?

HiBoost Big Boost Upgrade Kit

This is a complete turbo kit that includes a new cast turbo manifold, 38 mm wastegate, T3/TO4E Turbo, 2.5 inch downpipe, Huge front mounted intercooler that will allow to run the larger P5 radiator, intercooler piping, air intake system, new oil lines, thermostat housing, lower radiator hose and everything needed for the installation.

This kit is capable of producing well above 400 wheel horsepower and includes;

* T3/T04E Turbocharger
* 2 1/2 inch MSP downpipe
* FMIC kit with piping routed to allow for larger radiator
* More efficient air intake system
* Thermostat housing to allow for larger downpipes
* Engine Management System and Blow Off Valve (Optional)

buy that for 2500$ you can get a stand alone for another 1000$ and a bov for 200$ you still under 4000$ and you can make more power with that

nice turbo kit very nice but it is kinda price.. 4500$ thats like almost half as much as the car is worth.. no offense to.. ^_^ if i have alot of money then i might buy that kit but for now i'll wait on Turbo upgrade.

--New Turbo kit = New internals, New Block, 550cc injector whole lots or more upgraded s*** that cost alot---

Like i said in the other thread $5000 for a four cylinder kit is wayyyyy too much. Man You can turbo charge your Mustang for just about that same exact price but have a much larger T76 turbo with your choice of AR , alot more piping, eight 60lb injectors MAF, etc.. and not to mention horsepower in the range of 700whp. With the proper upgrades of course.

I was really hoping someone could step up and produce a very high quality kit that's affordable and had good customer service. Looks like they have a great quality kit but the price is much too high

I'm sorry but I just don't see people shelling out 5grand just for 240 some odd horsepower when someone wants real power for that price they could have a turbo on a mustang, camaro, GTO, whatever and make sick horsepower

Also the turbo kit is just part of it!

For any significant power you'll be spending that much more upgrading tranny and motor to handle it!

I think the idea is to have a low boost reliable kit. And I think they are trying to lower the cost as we speak.

who carries this kit?

right now its between hiboost and this one
im not even considering the turbokits.com kit, ive heard bad reviews

i need new pistons,rods, and studs before hand tho

workin 40 hours a week to buy those things at 17yrs old is great haha

it's makes just enough power to more than likely send a rod through your block so you have the pleasure of spending 4500 bucks then another 3 grand on internals and engine prep...Nice kit, just sucks that we have toothpick rods...

s***, 3k wont go that damn far on a rebuild. I have 1200 or so just in the machine work. Pauter rods, Aria pistons, gaskets, part, parts and more parts all add way the hell up real quick. Then you have to calculate the time it takes to pull it, build it, and reinstall it.
And I only broke a ring-land so my block and everything else were perfect.
3k won't cut it. Of course my motor was ceramic coated, dry filmed, uber balanced add infinitum.

It's fun in the end! But $$$$$ to do it right!

Hey Yashooa what injectors are you running? I'm just finishing tuning for 565cc and still hitting 10's in certain a few spots and 100% duty cycle there at 16psi?? My wideband froze up on me today so no more datalogging for a few days until I replace it!

I have the 42LB an hour Cobra Mustang injectors in the cold pipe and the stock injectors in the rail. I have enough fuel with this setup to completely DROWN the motor.
I can't give you my ratios off the top of my head I need to fire up the MPI and then log it.
I do know that at one point when I would get on it and the new injectors kicked on that the exhaust stream looked like a freaking semi truck. I had them set WAY too high.
It runs really good right now and pulls down 30-34MPG. I could use a bit more fuel in this hot weather and a little less timing to avoid some ping.
But this is at 18-20PSI in 97-100 degree weather.
