Well, since I am a graphic designer major, I needed a new digital cameras for one of my classes... Well, I didn't NEED it, but I felt that since I never had a digital camera, now would be the time to buy one...

I am now broke heh... but here is my new toy:

Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT
8 Megapixels

I also got a new lense and a 3 Gig memory card (silly)

So...

I smell a photoshoot :D

If anyone wants me to shoot their car, M-Spec or not, let me know! We could even do a group photoshoot.

I just hope school and work don't consume me too much.

nice! i'm looking at rebel xt or the nikon d50. show some sample pics. canon's have always shot a little more on the warmer temperature scale for me, but i haven't seen any of pics off this camera.

I have a Nikon D70s and I love it takes great pictures awesome easy to use an abundance of lenses and add on's just like the rebel both are excellent cameras i just liked the feel of the D70's more in my hand which was why i purchased over the Rebel just my .02

i just got one too! very good choice... now pimp your camera with a battery grip, speedlite flash and some lenses.... :)

I put a type R sticker on it already also (evil)

I bought a lense but might return it, it is a Canon 75-300mm. It doesn't have a stabalizer though... IDK, i gotta snap pics later to see if I like it or not.

from reviews and pics that i've seen that lens isn't that good. at least not compared to the Image Stabilizer ones. a friend of mine has the 17-85mm IS lens and that is super sharp. there is also the 75-300 IS lens which should be very sharp as well.

damn, that's a sick camera. If i could, i would get the Canon EOS-1D digital camera. that buggah is BEAUTIFUL.

As far as photoshoot, i think 8 megapixels is too clear for my car, you're gonna see too many imperfections. haha.
 
LOL! Was that the one on sale at, I think, Circuit City or Comp USA? It had a nice package deal. I think it was a color Epson printer (not the greatest but free after rebates), nice camrea bag, extra battery, extra lens. I was thinking of picking that up since I have the counter part 35 mm w/ the extra lens like yours, Chris. I wanted to get the Nikkon, however, I already have lenses, which I have been told are compatible w/ the digi cams as well. I was eyeing out the Nikkon the guy had from Hue Magazine. Anyways, sweet Chris. Have fun w/ your new toy. Make sure you get filters for the lenses and extra covers for them so you can store them. Peace out!

*edit* a photo shoot would be cool; but I ain't got nothing to show except dog chew and house paint hee hee...I'll prob. go and give my support.

Vern - Yep, the Comp USA one. Well, the bag is worth it, IDK about the printer. I didn't even bother getting it. I think you have to pay the price of the printer ($100) and then mail in all kind of rebates. I didn't need the printer, so I just said nvm. As for the $200 lense (or whatever the price) I might return it. I don't think the lense is all that great. If you ever want to see my camera to help you decide, let me know :D
