New to the MSP world

I just bought my 03.5 the other day with 79k miles on it. The car is basically stock except for an upgraded clutch and front brake rotors. I've had a friend drive me around in his and his BPV is fairly noticeable when he shifts. In mine I don't hear the BPV at all nor does the car feel like it's pulling like it should. Could this be a wastegate actuator problem or something more complicated?

Could be that your friend has a BOV. BPVs do not make that noise. As for the performance that could be a lot of things. Might want to throw a fresh set of plugs in it and go from there. Welcome aboard.

Good deal. Does it have a boost guage? If so the vac should read 20-22 down here depending on the outside temps. Gap spec is 0.028 - 0.031 in case you need that.

the bpv in your friends car may be noticeable if it is stock because he may have an aftermarket intake which makes the stock bpv louder...that's if he doesn't have a bov. As far as the car not pulling like it should, check for cracked hoses because this car is known for having brittle hoses over time. Check for loose clamps also. When I was completely stock, the clamp on the cold pipe would always come loose and whenever I would go to boost, the pipe would pop off of the intercooler. Sometimes, it would come loose but it would be on just enough for the car to keep driving but you could tell something was wrong. Check for leaks at the exhaust manifold(broken bolts or cracked manifold). Check for leaks at intake manifold too. Oh yeah, welcome to the forums and your new MSP. Take care of it and it will take care of you. or you will be replacing motor mounts and possibly a diff. One last thing, I don't know if anyone else on here has had this problem but, if you start seeing oil build up around the valve cover and the head, replace the gasket for the valve cover and ensure the bolts are tight. I could go on and on with things to look out for with these cars and I'm pretty sure everybody else can too. Don't know what your plans for the car are, but don't get boost happy or launch happy with these cars and you should be ok. What ever questions you may have about your car, you will find it here. There is plenty of info on everything for our cars and everyone here would be glad to help. Sorry for the long post..lol

Another question...when I'm driving on the highway there is an intermittent vibration in the steering wheel. It vibrates for a couple of seconds then it stops for a few seconds. I was told I need to get hub centric rings?
