New to the Forum, need some help.

Hey all. I joined this forum for my little sister. She owns 2007 Mazda 3, 5spd, 2.0 4Banger. She has wrecked it thrice times and I have repaired it every time. The last wreck tore off the front bumper and cracked the radiator.

Replaced the whole bumper and a new radiator, hoses, and hose clamps. She drives like a bat outta hell and one day she noticed the car was overheated. So I went through the whole car looking for a coolant leak; checked the radiator, checked the hoses, checked the water pump. Nothing at all. I think she might have warped the heads. The fan still works, it still comes on when the car is at an idle.

That being said; where can I find the replacement parts? And do they make a nicer/thicker gasket for the heads? I want to go aftermarket on the gasket and would like to stay stock on the heads.

Before you go all out replacing head gaskets, why not be sure first. Have you drained the oil? Is it milky? Is the car smoking?

Personally, I would be making sure there is no air in the system first. Maybe take it in and have the whole system drained and properly refilled.

I appreciate the reply. Oil has been checked and its not milky. The car isnt smoking. I've been refilling her coolant daily, I'll probably take it by a shop and have it drained and refilled. But, if you would, can you tell me where I can get a nice aftermarket gasket if I do end up having to replace it? I'm sure I can find a new head if the need arises.

many of our site sponsors will be able to help you out with getting a new gasket. try www.onlinemazdaparts.com

But really, have a leak down test done first and figure out the actual problem instead of guessing.
