New to forum 3 owner

Whats up guys my name is Martin but everyone calls me by my middle name Chris. My brother is a member on here not sure if any of you know him but hes speedracr79. I have a stock base model mazda3 which my brother calls the "Seafoam Green Machine". Heres a couple pics of our cars.

I think its a 08 if im not mistaken he goes to sleep early since he has to be at work at 6 ill ask him tomorrow. Im always giving him s*** for his puke green car its all in fun though. He's actually the reason I own a mazda today. He had a 99 lx before me. I liked his so much I went and got a better one IMO his was automatic w/no sunroof, mine is 5spd w/ a sunroof.

Mine is an 08 too. Manual is definetly better then an automatic!! haha. sunroof i can live without..

I had to have a sunroof and 5spdI its the only way to go for me. My hood and trunk and seats are all from his old protege so his car still lives on. He's not big on extras so his 3 is the base model no power and automatic.

Yes my brother is correct it is a 08 and from what I gather the color is Golden Sand Metallic. Not 100% sure so if anyone knows lmk.

I did have a black 99LX but I got in a accident and just gave it to my brother. He drove it for a minute then stripped it took what he wanted then junked the rest. I chose the base because I didn't need all the bells and whistles.

Would I like power everything, sunroof and rims yes but I can roll up the window and lock the door by myself. Its mostly just me in the car and use it for daily driving to workyou and back. During the weekend or any other trips we use my boyfriends volvo he has power everything so it works out.

zoltan you turbo'd your 3? how did that work out?

i met this guy in austin at a meet we had up there he has a sedan 3 he boosted its done nicely and cant tell hes boosted either until he gets on it, the FMIC is kinda hidden behind the lower grill.

If I were to turbo mine I would have a black painted intercooler to hide the fact that it is turbo'd. I really want to build it up to be a strong NA motor though.

I did turbo it but the tune isn't done yet so as of now its eh.. Haha.
@speedracr79, was his the 2.0 liter or 2.3?
@the7thgear, if you want it black make sure you do it with the right paint, also if you do it black it does attract more heat which is the opposite of what you want haha

From any of the car builds i've done building a NA motor that makes any power ends up costing a lot more than just putting a turbo on it to start with. And a turbo is just so much fun. ever since I got my first turbo car ive never had a NA car since.
