im getting a set of Ravespeed springs for uber cheap(cabpatch), but i dont know if my stock struts can handle a 2" drop... is it necessary for me to get new struts and if so, which ones are on the cheaper side but will serve my needs well?

Never heard of those springs before? What are the specs on them?

For cheap struts KYB is probably your best bet.

Why not get some Tokico HP struts and some good springs like Eibach, Tein, H&R, etc.?

well the point is that im getting them locally for $100 for a set of all 4...cant pass up that price.besides that they are Ravespeed i dont know much else

Are they brand new in the box? Because, even then, you are getting ripped off. If they are used, you're getting VERY ripped off. Ravespeed is a no-name company that sells their stuff on eBay. Their quality is not guaranteed, and I wouldn't put them on any car I wanted to handle well.

Oh yeah, and they sell them brand new for $66.50 shipped.

wow thanks for the save(smash)... thought i was getting a good deal but im pretty much still a noob so....yea thanks, ill hold off and buy betetr ones

Not a problem, man. Anytime you're looking at buying parts from a person that isn't with a reputable shop, do some research first. 5 minutes of poking around on google can save you a lot of time and money in the long run.

Good post. We were all in your shoes once, and I know for a fact that this forum saved me from many stupid purchases in the beginning.
