New Sport Compact

What about a Saab? Those things look so good now. They really improved the body styling on those. I'm glad they ditched the watermelon seed hatchback look.

The Saab 9-3 is sharing plateforms with the 04 Chevrolet Malibu and the Opel/Vauxhall Vectra. Also a lot of hatchback fans were pissed that Saab dropped the hatchback for the 9-3 range. Saab has a 9-2 sportwagon based on the Subaru 2.5 TS and WRX coming next year. Also a 9-7 based off an GMC Envoy SUV is coming next year too. GM is just killing Saab with its poor quality of build and materials. Just get into a Cavalier and then into a Vette. Just similar junky interior.

The Opel Vectra(which I think is a nice looking car)

This will be a new Saturn model in 05 so I've read

Heres the car the ION shares its plateform with

The Astra should of been imported as a Chevorlet Cavalier. It looks awesome. Opels are also Holdens!!!!

You forgot that Nissan has the SE-R, Toyota has the Celica, Honda has the Civic SI, VW the GTI and R32, and on and on. BMW also has the 1 series coming to compete in the Sport Compact car market. Chevy will have the all new Cobalt SS which will be a Cavalier LS sport or Z24 replacement. Yeah I think th ION is ugly but the new REdline VUE has the 3.5 l V6 from Honda. GM and Honda are working together???

Yes, and the next malibu will have the Accord V6. Looks like chevy is finally giving up on its oil leaking engines.

I dunno Saturns aren't that bad - take a drive in an SC2. My friend has a 1997 SC2, Automatic Tranny - and it's a fun car to drive. Rev's highly and freely. He's been beating the crap out of it for the past 5 years he has had it, and it's still going. He just added a SRI and a larger throttle body, I have to admit - the damn little thing has some power. It handles really nice too, but then for a car it's size, with it's stock suspension - it's what you would expect.

He's got the Saturn SC2, his mom has a 2003 Accord (base model), his brother has an Audi A4 and a 1998? Prelude, his dad has a Honda Del Sol (base model). Honestly - the whole damn family has cars that are fun to drive, with the exception of the Accord, which is nice just because it's so new.

I'll be shipping them my adoption papers soon.

Saturn?

The only GM car I would ever consider is a Vette. And; that ain't going to happen.

Pontiac? What the **** is uglier than a Pontiac?!!! (chair) Not much!

I cannot name one that isn't an eyesore. Pathetic! Over-designed pieces of s***. (omg)

I wouldn'r even consider a Vette. Its interior is cheap. Reminds me of a 10 grand Cavalier interior. But you can not beat the bang for the buck with the vette. And what is uglier then a Pontiac?? Try Nissans new cars like the 04 Maxima, 04 Sentra, Frontier, and Quest and Mitsubishis 04 Lancer, 04 Galant, and 03 Endeavor.

Well.......it's GM - that's bad enough (maybe a little better than Chrysler, but not much) (lol) (puke) (pukey)

Well, with all these companies putting 200hp+ in their sport compact, Mazda definitely needs to put more juice in the MSP.

You and you're pukey guy lol :D
You're right though, at least GM has a better tranny record than Chrysler

. I have read on this forum that people have mistaken the MP5 for the Lexis IS Sportcross. That would NEVER happen in a saturn!

mistakes like that are usually made by the same people who mistaken my car for a BMW lol.. non-car people who depend on logo's to tell them what car it is..

Well, I guess the MSP can't have both...
Best looking sport compact and power. Just one or the other, but I'm really starting to love the 2003.5 Yellow MSP. I think its so sexy...hehe
