new rotors?

Also you'll be able to feel it in the pedal.

A lot of people have described having problems while braking at low speeds... the way it usually doesn't happen.

(notcool) hrm ban charles, i say ban him...

yeha the car pretty much shakes...and the sound of two rough metal plates is annoying..i had to change mine a yr after i got my car... stock rotors suck ass

Frozen Rotors sounds awesome...I'm gonna have to keep that in mind when I have some extra cash.

Hey vodapas77, which pads are you using?

(another 'spoonfeed me' question too!)
lol. I'm using Akebano ceramics up front. They're pretty good. Unfortunately, I choose to run EBC's greenstuff in back, I'm gonna change them back to the stock pads once my stainless steel brake lines get here. They have been a pain since I installed them. Noisy as hell and they shed a ton of brake dust.

Cool thanks. Is that bubblegum flavor? anyways, where are you getting the SS lines from...ive been wanting to do that as well, but corksport says they wont work with the MSP...

I did some more testing...

at highway speeds (60+ MPH), hitting the brakes will cause the steering wheel to shake back and forth, accompanied with a very faint noise. The magnitude of the shaking is not very high, but it can definetly be felt.

I'm still quite sure the rotors are warped...

And I'm still quite sure that if you have those "warped" rotors turned, use a better brake pad, and drive in the same manner that "warped" those rotors in the first place, the problem will not return.

I have done that exact same experiment before.

Just get your darn rotors turned; a lot of people have had that problem and its fixed inexpensively.

lol. Yeah, it's Pink Bubble Gum Flavor...

As for the SS lines. I got em from CorkSport. The guy I talked to (not Ben) said they would work with the MSP. Now I just hope he knew what he was talking about.

Man i feel like im being chastized for thinking i have warped rotors.... : \

No no not at all. Its VERY common to think that the rotors are warped. I'm not saying that it's totally impossible for a rotor to warp, just highly unlikely, particularly if you only drive on the street.

I had back to back track weekends at Virginia Int. Raceway a few years ago. I ran one weekend with very cheap Advance Auto pads, and the following weekend with some Porterfield R4 pads (this was well before I started working at Carbotech). After the 1st session with the cheap pads, my steering wheel shook so much I really thought I was going to damage the car during braking. I was *convinced* the rotors were warped. I turned those rotors and installed the R4 pads and went back to the exact same track the following weekend. No violent shuddering what-so-ever. At all!! Zero! After ~180 miles of track driving!!!

I did some research and found that stoptech link I posted below. Case closed, at least for me.

Alright, cool. Thank you for educating me, honestly. I'll have em turned and get some bobcats. (thumb)

Yeah, i just checked thier site again, and they must have updated it or something. The CS lines will work, but not the Goodridge. Sweet....

so if we get our rotors turned, we have to get new brake pads, correct?

And you can get them in a variety of fancy colors too. lol.
