New Protege 5 owner, parts possibly missing.

I just bought my Protege 5 a week ago, but I noticed a few things missing a few days later. The first thing was minor, the manual was apparently removed from the sealed bag. Also, the cigarette lighter was missing. But I found out that I was supposed to have a subwoofer on top of the spare (that too was missing). The first two I found out after two days, and the dealership replaced them no questions asked. But then they said that someone stole the sub from my trunk. Little do they know I had it parked in the garage since I bought the car, so now that too has been replaced.

And now just today, I'm hearing the plastic tray surrounding the spare tire in the back is supposed to come with a bunch of stuff in it. Can somone tell me for certain what is supposed to come in the tray in the trunk?

My cig lighter and matts were stolen out of my car at the dealership before I bought it and they replaced them, only I got sedan rugs instead.

All I got in the trunk were the filler strips for my roof rack, along with a small cloth bag that has the tire jack inside. Nothing really in the tray other than the spare.

I've had my P5 for about a month now. In the trunk area, under the spare tire cover there is a tray that surrounds that space. It is only visible when you lift up the false floor. I didn't have anything in mine either except on the left side where the jack screwer is located.

I just noticed however that I don't seem to have a lug wrench.... Has anyone found this in some other area of the car?

Nothing is suppose to be on the tray.

In the trunk you are suppose to have:

1. Jack
1. Lug wrench
1. Longer screw to put your full size when you remove your spare

Look behind the panel on the right side of the trunk.

the 03.5 only got the subs standerd No roof racks. soo look at your paper u get with all the options and see is sub woofer was included and if it was go cause hell like wat host of us do

--- 1 long screw
--- 1 lug wrench
--- 1 key(for wheel lock option) only if u got the option
--- 1 Jack

Yeah...you may have a 2003...not the 03.5. I have the 2003 and it doesn't come with the sub...but it comes with the tray.

If your sticker lists 1MCR as no charge then you have a 2003.5 which includes the tray and subwoofer.

If it doesn't and your dealer still gives you the sub and tray for free then you got VERY lucky.

The tray was required to raise the floor of the trunk to accomodate the subwoofer.

Thanks for all the replies. I finally got my sub-woofer, and everything else checks out on the car just fine. I actually didn't even know what those extra plastic clips were in the back for. Don't really know how they will go onto the roof rack. Anyway, I have the 03.5 model in case anyone was wondering.

Look behind the panel on the right side of the trunk.

Was there something in your tray under that panel? Mine was empty.

My trunk had on the right hand side a little door with the jack behind it. Under the cardboard floor was the spare tire with the sub in the middle. Surrounding the spare tire is a plastic tray. The left side of the tray had a long wrent used to lift the jack. The right side had a small pocket that held the bag with the wrench to remove lug nuts and long screw for holding flat full sized tire. There is also a long bucket that has a picture of the triangle hazard symbol, but has no such item in it. And along the top of the tray is another empty pocket.

I'll take a picture of the trunk sometime tomorrow and post it here.

True that. Guess I should not complain as I've never had one before. It is just difficult to tweak to keep a clean sound and at least moderate punch. I have to adjust my head unit's bass setting when changing music genres to keep it real (there is also a dial on the actual sub).

Damn, guess I'm taking this thread even more off-topic.
