New Problem.... GRRRR

Well i didnt even make it home from picking my car up at the dealer from the rebuild and my car popped out of 5th gear while driving.. I was confused at first cuz i didnt realize what happened. Well i put back in gear drove a lil further and boom did it again. I finally make it home and then it doesnt do it for a couple days but now it does it all the time. Only fifth gear though. However the car itself seems to jerk a little bit more but that could just be me. And lastly the tranny is loud. Its hums and whines with the rpms. Im just wondering what in the heck happened. I dont want another warranty battle. Oh yeah and on startup there is a loud rattle that sounds like its coming from just inside the front left wheel well. Which i believe is where the tranny is. But it only does it for a few minutes. (boom01)
 
Well i would have but i was 2 hrs away from my dealer. I called the next day and they scheduled me for an appointment the next monday. I leave at 6am to get there at 8am and they were frickin' closed!!! That is what gets me the most.. But anyways im just trying to figure this out so that i know what problems im lookin at.

dude check your oil level, probably you dont have enough of it, back in the days when i had a probe same thing was happening until eventually tranny exploded, didnt know what it was, and same thing happened to my other probe so after checking i came to conclusion of having not enough fluid, so i just changed it to MT-90(like i did in my MSP now as well) and VOILA..headache gone

So all that would be caused by that?

hell yeah, when it happened to me i was like 2 hours away from my house, so going on highway fast was kind of stupid casue how fast can you go on 4th gear, when it started to jusp out i was so furious with it i just held it in 5th gear and finally something went BOOM and i couldnt get it off the 5th gear..when i took it apart i found out that synchros locked(cooked) them selfs out without oil,....when the gear was jumping out the synchros werent holding it in place like they suppost to , and once i held it in place they kinda glued together due to heat thats why i couldnt get the gear out.....
 
Man that means that they didnt fill up my tranny fluid all the way. That pisses me off. If i take my car in they are just gonna blame it on my aftermarket parts which is bulls***. But i cant afford any work thats not warrantied.
 
For this particular problem, I suggest a campaign of mechanized warfare against the dealership. I really can't believe how crappy they have treated you. Good luck in getting everything fixed. Let us know if you need help fighting the Machine.
 
witness it when they take out the transmission oil at the dealership, or something similar, so you have proof its from them not filling all the way. It thats what the problem actually is.
 
buy a used tranny with low miles and do it yourself
your dealer sucks and probably does not know much about working on cars

Is it a regular 5spd tranny from a protege? Maybe i could get a 6spd in there lol.
 
did you check the fluids? btw, go into your CP and remove all the extra line breaks that dont have anything in your sig, its like half a page of nothing.

My oil is a little low but i dont see how that would matter with the tranny. And i cant check my tranny fluid unless there is some way i dont know about it.
 
well my oil was like 2 quarts low. What the hell!! Im getting the tranny fluid checked tomorrow. I swear to God im gonna go off the ****** wall. (gun) Im guessing one of the synchros is going bad but i dont know what kinda $$$$ im lookin at.
 
Not a synchro......did they rebuild the transmission? If so they screwed up the alignment of shift forks. If anybody has rebuilt a protege transmission you know what I'm talking about, it's very easy to do....I ended up taking mine back apart again last week when I had put the lsd in.
If they didn't take the transmission apart I would say you have worn gears or shift forks.

Well the fact that its only 5th gear makes me think its not a fork...but im not up to date on the protege's tranny so i really dont know. I refuse to take my car to mazda because the are Bastards from Hell. I just wonder how much something like this will cost to get fixed. Oh and no they never touched the tranny. It started the minute the put it back in though... But oh im sure its not their fault... wtf ever
