2015 Mazda CX-5 Touring
Hi Everyone. First time Mazda owner (today marks 2 weeks) and first time poster here. I purchased the 2015 CX-5 touring in soul red metallic w/ tech and moonroof package. I have a small knick in the paint on my hood presumably from a small rock. It's about the size of the tip of a ball point pen, maybe smaller. It is deep enough so when I run my finger nail over it I feel it get stuck. I really want to fill it and hopefully match the rest of the color. You can see it's slightly offwhite where the knick is. Does anyone have any experience with the product below? I've read that it can be hard to match the soul red color using generic fixer up products.. maybe that's why the product has three steps? Any suggestions would be really helpful!

sorry so it looks like there is already a thread on soul red touchups. but more specifically, anyone have any comment on the product I posted?

Wow! Didn't take long for someone to capitalize on the "pearlescent paint problem".

The Mazda3 crowd has decent luck with paint pens. Take your time, and it will be a decent looking solution. It will not be totally unnoticeable, but much better!

I am going to clearbra mine for sure. Mazda's Mica line of paint look great, but are a real challenge for painters.

EDIT: I know up here (Canada) paint pens are available for purchase at the dealership. I would assume the same for the US, since we never get anything you guys don't lol.

The paint pens may work if you have a small hairline scratch but I wouldn't advice using it on rock chips. I asked one of the guys in the parts department at mazda and he specifically said the touch up pen is not meant to fix that sort of thing.
