Well my dad traded in my first car my 06 Mazda Miata for an 06 Mazdaspeed6.Black chery w/white and black interior.I miss my miata but WOW this amazing.I like that i can actually fit 5 girls in it instead of 1 lol.Ive heard that old people drive this car.I dont really believe that.I think im the youngest owner b/c im 16.The car is great.Stick shift is smother than the miata and it handles great. The color is unique too.Its funny b/c my neighbors got one in the same color a week after i got mine.
this is my old car.I miss it a lot.It got a lot of looks! The mazdaspeed is not as "flashy"but thats ok cause its bad-A**

well technically yeah its in my dads name (just like anyones car my age)but its my car so maybe when i turn 18 ill get it switched....still though pretty cool.My dad hasnt even driven it

That's a nice trade in, it's faster than the miata at least. I tried getting my dad to buy a S2000 for his car, sadly it didn't work. He bought a Chrysler Pacifica instead.(yawn) I guess it's a little more practical than a 2-seat roadster.

damn..........is it my ears?? All I heard was, I"m a spoiled little brat and gonna kill myself and 5 passingers when i fall off a on ramp going 100mph.

LOL

I'm sure there are SOME responsible 16 year old's out there. I know I would never lend this car to anyone without at least a few years driving experience...too much power for someone who is inexperienced.

yes i am one of those responsible ones lol i know how people look down on teen drivers.I was afraid to let my dad drive it b/c of the turbo kick at 3000+rpm.It almost jumps!I got used to the stick imediatly except...ive stalled like 100 times. My miata's clutch was diffrent and i didnt stall as much

yeah the clutch takes getting used to...give a little more throttle and let the clutch out slowly and you should be fine.

Another thing to remember about this car is that you are actually moving much faster than you think you are, so look at the speedo often!

Cars that powerful should be illegal for teens. For example, a couple of months ago, a 17 yrs old kid in Qubec City killed himself in his new MSP. (when I think I almost sold him mine, didn't know his age then)
Just this: always drive defensively and remember that if a car holds the road better it will also get off the road a lot faster when you lose it!

Congrats. I hope your always grateful to your parents, and are responsible. Yeah the clutch on the MS6 is tricky. Have fun, but be careful. Regardless of long you've been driving your still young. Though the Miata is a brillant first car for learning in.

Im 16 and im responsible. Not all teens cant drive. Although i do know a few who cant.

...and congrats on the ms6!

The first car I learned on was a 3 cylinder chev sprint (made by suzuki). I feel everyone should learn on a basic car like that....it's not quick enough to get you into trouble, and then you get to appreciate what real HP is once you move up!

thats what i learned to drive stick on as well, a turbo sprint

I learned Stick in a B13 Sentra SE-R. I'm still thanking my bro, that car is a blast. So is the 626 and my Nitrous Powered Tercel (yeah yeah, leave me alone on the latter, lol). Lol, I know that a 16 year old can be responsible I learned to drive at that age, so I know what most people think about that age group of drivers. I mostly meant the inexperience you have for now. I mean that 's alot of power many 'experienced' drivers can't handle.

give him credit

If that miata was his daily, then i give him credit for driving it through winter. I have a toyota mr2 turbo 250 hp to the wheels about since i was...17. Im 19 goin to 20 now and want to get the speed6 as a daily. and yes im paying for it myself before i get the teenager with rich parents flame. Il admit im very jelous of the kids around me...17 with stis payed for....hey atleast the kids pay for their own aftermarket turbos right?

Like I said the miata is a brilliant first car. There's nothing wrong with getting a gift from your parents. I don't mind if I see a kid get a Porche 911 from mom and dad. It is the attitude with which the individual takes such gifts that matters. ;) And if you pay for it yourself even better. I only hope you strive for straight A's :)RADatFBHS, or good grades in general. I'm sure you can use the power responsibly. And if you won't (happens to everyone at least once) make sure you don't have passengers.

There are still some responsible young drivers. I started towing airplanes at 17, and not small ones big ones with about 300 people in them.
