MS6 GT 2006
Hello to everyone,

Ive been reading this thread for a couple of months now since I bought my speed 6 in March. Its completely stock except for the AUX input cable I connected to the back of the head-unit and routed to a jack in the arm rest for my iPod. I love driving this car and am really happy I got it. I live in MA on the north shore and I havent seen another MS6 since I bought it. Now that Im out of school for the summer I want to do a few things to make this car even better. From what Ive seen on this site a lot of people recommend a Short Ram Intake if you want to hear your turbo spool better and get a few extra HP. Do you guys agree? If so what kind would you recommend? I was also wondering if buying a used one was ok and if it is; anyone selling a slightly used one?

Thanks a lot

Firstly, grats on the purchase!!! The MS6 is a fun car indeed, while still having a touch of luxery. :)
If you have a trusted mechanic... i HIGHLY recommend having him do a FULL inspection of the car just in case.
That is the first thing i do with every used vehicle.

As for intakes, the Short Ram Intake (SRI) makes more low end hp gains. the Cold Air Intake (CAI) makes more high end hp gains.
Personally i like the CAI better due to how i drive and the damn cali heat.
Intakes should be according to typical driving of the owner and weather.

If you are in an area with consistently damp climate like snow or rain, then SRI is safer, keeps the filter from getting ruined as fast and risk of sucking in water is zilch.
If you are in an area with consistently dry/hot climate like me, then CAI is a good idea to maintain as low intake temps as possible.

cheers!

Congrats man.

But an intake certainly makes the turbo and blow off more audible. If you have money than the cobb ap is something to invest in.

Hope you enjoy your car. Good luck.

looks like his aux jack in the center console next to the cigarette lighter ;)

Congrats! I live in central mass also with a speed 6. Awesome car. Even better in the snow with snow tires. Def do SRI around here. Too much snow and rain to worry bout. Just holla if ya need anything.

welcome to the community bud...but what is pic 2 of lol

Yep that's the AUX input that I hooked up so that i could listen to my Ipod.

I was thinking of going with the SRI instead of the CAI so that in the winter and when we get a huge amount of rain i wouldn't be worried about water getting into the engine. I don't have a lot of extra money so I'm thinking about getting it used if possible but what manufacturer would you recommend? the only one that I found online is the one made by COBB.

Thanks a lot for your help

Welcome ! Glad to hear another owner in MA. I just did my aux mod weeks ago too. loved it, now i can use my 5 yr old iPod. lol.

I have the cobb SRI and no complains at all.
There's also CP-E's SRI to consider too.
