New MS3 owner and member

Hello all, I recently purchased a 2009 True Red Speed3 GT and I love it! Can't find any fault with it yet, however I do find the 1-2 shift somewhat harsh. I've had manuals all my life, so I don't think it's user error, maybe I just have to get used to it. I hear talk of the rear motor mount helping this issue, or what exactly are the benefits of the MM? I also here about the shifter bushings being upgraded. Would this help any? I look forward to many years with this car and hope to make some early, relatively cheap mods to the car.

Cheers

Congrats on the Speed!!

1-2 is harsh for me as well. i have the shifter bushings...while it doesnt remedy the 1-2 it does sure things up a bit. A rear motor mount will make the shift a little easier as well.

Anyway, happy speeding.

Welcome to the boards, and congrats on the new Speed. As someone who ordered his shifter bushings from TWM 3-4 days after he bought the car & then waited 6-7 months to actually install them, I can say that they really do make the shifter feel much more precise. You get much better feedback, and can feel the lever going in & out of the gates after the upgrade. Rear MM and Tranny mount have to come next for me.
