Laser Blue MP3
Just thought I'd introduce myself since it looks like we MP3 owners are a small group. I'm picking up my blue MP3 this Saturday and I honestly can't wait, I'm 25 and it feels like its 2 days before Christmas, woohoo! i haven't felt like this in years.
The car itself has 102,000km or just over 60k miles, overall its in great shape other than some very minor rust spots that are getting fixed asap and the 'clunking' rear bushing.

Now are there any discount Mazda dealers out there that you guys use because I need to order some timing belt parts? I know from my DSM days there were 2 dealers that sold Mitsu parts at wholesale, just wondering if you guys have the same deal.

And is there anything a newbie like myself should be reading up on? any common knowledge stuff?

Welcome to the Forum.
I am a new MP3 owner myself... going on 3 weeks now. But I am a previous ES owner, ES got totalled.. so I got MP3 off another forum member who got himself an RX-8.

You'll be very very happy in a few days. I love mine sooo much. I can say I didn't have to worry much about the "clunk" it was already fixed when I bought the car.
I would recommend first off by getting the AWR engine mounts. They really make a difference. There is alot of info on here about those... so feel free to research. Other than that... Short shifter helps.. and the Kartboy Shifter bushings really make differnce.. I was shocked.

Just promise to treat it nice, keep it clean and drive it proud.

Welcome again...

Welcome to the forums!

It seems to be that we are getting a new wave of fresh MP3 owners! Excellent!

As a 'veteran' MP3 owner, i'd recommend contacting Captain KRM P5, he can get you OEM (cheap btw) and aftermarket parts for your Mazda.

He runs www.protegegarage.com

He's very well respected on this forums, and i'd do buisness with him anyday.

I can get you a lot of things... ken is a good source as well... but the best I've ver found for genuine mazda parts is mazdastuff.com... call up Richard there and he will MORE than take care of you!

Later,

Steve

Thanks guys, I'll check out both places when I order my timing belt parts.

You should also check out the Ottawa Protege Club (ottawaprotege.com) and the Toronto Protege Club (toprotege.com) since you are in the area.
