Yes, and fortunately the CX-5 is such a good exterior design with excellent styling in this class of vehicle, so major "plastic surgery" or big changes to styling are not necessary.
Example of ugly vehicle getting mid-generation makeovers (due to poor styling at launch) is the current Mercedes E-class. Since it's 2010 launch, numerous front clips, rear clips, non-pontoon rear fenders, etc have been attempted by Mercedes. It's going to take more than new mirrors to make it look good.
Another ugly example is new Jeep Cherokee. I'll bet they implement a new front clip (grill/bumper/valence/lights) well before the redesign of this thing. Side of body and beltline could use help too, but that will have to wait until redesign. It will take more than new mirrors to make it look good.
