New Mazdaspeed Article!

decent reviews. I found it funny the first guys hated the spoiler on both the MP3 originally, and now the MSP. The only complaint I've ever had on my car was the spoiler, so they aren't the 1st ones to complian. It aint for everyone, nor is the orange.

As for the 2nd guys, anyone that bitches about Cruise control missing, at least to me, should be driving a different car anyhow. Every car I've ever driven from the timeI got my license has had cruise control, until the MP3 of course, and I may have used it hlaf a dozen times all together. I can't stand it, I like to "drive" to much, and cruise control takes that away from me. You DRIVE a sports car. You RIDE in everything else.

I will agree, there's just no simple reason as to why the MSP shouldn't have cruise. Indeed strange but I could care less.

Hey - I want cruise... but only so I can pilot this missile on the highway for more than 5 minutes without it "self arming" and accelerating all by itself (honestly, officer, I couldn't help myself) at the slightest provocation :D

I can't stand cruise either. Even on long trips, I still like to hold the pedal down myself.
Why did Mazda not include cruise? My guess is the weight it adds. It can be a huge amount of weight.

srt4 never got rear power windows, we never got cruise. Cost cut I'd say.

I'd much rather have power windows all around. wtf is up wit dat anyhow...strange.

Honestly, you could just swap in the cruise control from an ES or Protege5 who doesn't want it. There aren't that many parts to the system :)

Cruise sucks anyway though. Glad I don't have it !

We didn't get cruise because the underhood actuator mounts to those empty screws underneath your front strut bar on the right front strut.

I want cruise because I'll get tickets otherwise. The BMW in front of me half a mile took the instant on and got nailed for 75 in a 60. I saw the tail lights go on and slowed down just in time. Whew!

Anyway, it looks like there's room for the cruise control, you just have to get one and put it in on a custom bracket. And you have to supply the wiring, because mazda left it out. Oh well.

My feelings exactly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you driven 3000 miles in 4 days?

I'm not trying to flame, but there IS a reason for cruise. I'm NOT looking forward to the drive as I make my next move (CA to CT :( )

So far, the ONLY gripe I have about the MSP is the lack of cruise. I knew it coming in, and I still think the car is worth it... :D

To each their own I guess regarding the cruise control.

My Civic Si has it and I must have used it like twice over a period of 6 years.

I have to say, I was never a fan of cruise either until today. Did a trip up to Binghamton from NYC which is like 4 hours this weekend but on saturday I got my first speeding ticket ever for 76 in a 55. Ouch. Well, lucky he didn't catch me as I was slowing down from the 85 I was consistently doing...

But anyhow, since I was now aware of the highway patrol I just tossed on cruise at around 67 for the trip coming back down instead of risking it again. Atleast it let my leg rest since there weren't any other cars on the damn road.

I agree,

I did a 650 mi trip this weekend and I was sorely missing it :)

(I did notice that the car did want to cruise at about 75 on up... from there, the acceleration was smooth, before that I noticed some surge from the turbo)

The first weekend I had my MSP, I did a 4 hour trip. My husband (who uses the cruise all the time) missed it on the way back, but as for me I never even thought about it. Yes, my leg was tired, but I chalked it up to also first-time (well probably 5th time, but for the most part brand new to it) driving a stick shift and getting used to the car!
I doubt that if I made that trip again that I would miss cruise control. I like being in control of the car. I always have. I like being able to say that I can steadily cruise at 70 or whatever speed and do it without automated help!
It just comes down to personal opinion!
