For 2005, Here is the new info for the Mazda 3 SP23 special vehicle package. Think of it as a euro upgrade. Everything is in pdf format for you to view.

Enjoy

the 5-door there must be a pic of a euro-spec 3 because they've got the automatic climate controlls in there... I like the colour of the leather interior, but really, it adds no more 'zoom' to the 'zoom zoom'... just a heavier interior and a stereo that people will always want to mod anyway :p

The vehicles from that brochure are pre-production prototypes. Several of the pictures are JDM-spec and a few are even flipped horizontally to appear as if the steering wheel is on the left.

Automatic climate controls will NOT be part of the US-spec SP23 trim.

bah, it's like a canadian model except for the badge heated seats auto climate control and that brown leather, seriously like the sport cloth seats a lot better.

I hope more is planned for the interior

Does anyone know if this is what the final production color scheme will be?
I like the brown seats, but it is too much of a contrast if the whole interior
is grey - ick. The black interior is better, but needs some color to spice it up.

Yes, that's pretty much it in terms of final production color scheme. But seeing colors from a picture and in real-life are quite different (for example, there is no grey at all in the US-spec SP23 interior - it's all black or black/brown)

do u guys think any of the options could be added later??

IE: the pollen filter? and mabye the bose system....

I am excited that the LED Taillights are coming domestically here.

Should bring the prices down perhaps, woo!

yeah, I love the look of those LED lights. I've seen a few places where you can buy them, but I'm not shelling out $300+ bucks for them yet!

That is going to be one sweet car. Count on it selling quickly, especially for that price.

I would have looked at it; however, the color choice and the 17" wheels would have turned me off (try to get steel wheels for 17" snow tires--you can't).

Wouldn't mind the Bose sytem though. On second thought, the 6-speaker package system in the i model is pretty good already. I think Edmunds.com ranked it second best in its class, only after the Mini Cooper's system.

Hey MASTERNC,

Can you tell me where on Edmunds you saw the rating of the audio system on the Mazda3? I was looking for it and can't find it.

Thanks,

MarLo

Wow.....wonder why?

I was gonna say that since the 3 has been such a good seller, why (now) make a "special edition"...??

Don't think they need to boost sales.... (kissass)

But if it is kinda a "euro upgrade" (and the parts are already produced/available, albiet in a euro spec vehicle) then why not...

OK, so I like the following:
the LED taillights...
HEATED SEATS!!! (as I already have leather I would LOVE this feature...leather can be really fuc(sssh)ing cold man....).
the BOSE setup sounds nice.. (no pun). If I were 8 years younger I'd already have the car apart (naughty) ..

the rest is pretty much gravy....we can pick it up aftermarket.

NO on the following:
the rain sensing windshield wipers (I think this feature would annoy the hell out of me:)
the brown leather (my preference)
badges....(I had none from the beginning, so I'm not missing anything)
pollen filter (I'm not a puss (headshake )
already have the 6 disk changer..
SIRIUS would be nice...(if I didn't get a monthly service charge from Sirius!!!)

Usdm?

Are all these options beeing offered in the USDM model? Cause i know the canadian and the usa models differe slightly. I am considering trading in my protege5 for the new mazda3 but im still unsure. Has anyone here ever driven both? Which is better? I know the new mazda 3 has the new beefy 2.3L mazda 6 4 cyl. I am also wondering about the mazdaspeed mazda3 since the new mazdaspeed mazda6 is comming out and it will have the 2.3L 4 cyl with turbo putting out about 270 HP and AWD so the mazda3 version can have as much power as the mazda6.....but thats my two cents, i dont think mazda would do that....but thanks for the help guys
