New M-SPEC Positions Need Filled

Hey guys,

In the process of getting the ATI cruise put together along with the production and sales of the stickers and T-shirts it became cleared to me that we have the need for a couple more positions within the club. With getting our webpage up as well as hosting bigger events in the future these positions are going to become even more important.

The positions will be, obviously, Treasurer and Event's Coordinator.

The Treasurer will do what treasurers do. Handle the saving and spending of the money the club accumulates via either fund raising or sales of apparel. (M-SPEC will never collect dues, but in the future we may sell T-shirts, hats, and stickers with a little tacked on to the production price to help pay for things.) I will act as the Comptroller in so much as I will assist with and monitor the treasurer's fiscal transactions, as will whomever succeeds me as President. We will be opening a joint bank account that both the treasurer and president will have access to for the purpose of saving for things like a web server if we go that route or to pay the cost of a web hosting service.

The Event's Coordinator will be the point of contact and all around guy (or girl) in charge of making what ever crazy ideas we come up with for meets, cruises, fund raisers, etc. become a reality. The EC will be assisted as much as possible by the president and vice-president and of course all of the club members.

Unlike the Pres. & VP these positions will be appointed rather than voted in. These are volunteer positions who Mike and I will choose best applicant for each job. However, volunteers need to remember that a good amount of work and responsibility comes with each position. The treasurer will demand less of one's free time but requires a lot of reponsibility. While the EC will be very time consuming, but will allow you to delegate some of the responsibility to others.

Ok, now that I've made both positions sound like major burdons... Who wants to volunteer? :D
 
sorry but i aint good with money nor do i have alot of free time cause work and my son and all! but if you guys got no one ill help out with what i can!!

Yup, check your PM. I tend to agree with you. Might be a little more big time than we are ready for and we would end up getting squeezed out of what we're actually doing this for. I firmly believe the members of this club are more than capable of making this event a huge success. Promote, promote, promote then all we need are the girls and good weather. :D

lol i'm good with #'s but idk how responsible i am haha... my mother says i'm not very responsible lol. i too will help out with whatever i can or whatever you guys ask of me to the best of my abilities. i'm "the pizza boy"

maybe events coordinator haha, since ive been on many island cruises b4... i think i kind of know what works/what doesnt.

um... one problem, im not in mspec :P

Neal, I don't know what you are talking about. Not responsible? You were only an hour late to the ast cruise. lol. J/P Seriously, if you are interested hit me or Mike up. If this Bikini Carwash ends up as a go we will have a need for a treasurer soon.

Chris, you know we would always be glad to have you and I think you would make an excellent events coordinator given your knowledge of the local scene and involvement with multiple clubs. However, as you said this is something you need to talk with Dave about.

Well, if your hook up for the car wash works out, that'll fill your help-the-club quota for at least until you come back from deployment. lol.
 
well i talked to dave today and told him about dropping team pro 5 to join mspec. he was very understanding and considering only jarret, efren, and i are the only ones running with team pro 5 (at the moment that i know of), he understood why.

so i guess im part of m-spec now guys.

im still down for that. hmmm school is starting up for me, and a lot of us i presume, i dont see a cruise happening any time soon
 
haha yeah schools starting up. *sigh* i have to wait until sept 5th to do my set up...oh well at least it'll be done heh. i'm still down for cruises/bbqs/potlucks...on sundays :)
 
School? What's that? J/P Yeah, I know things are gonna start getting pretty busy for everyone in the coming months as they have been for me lately. In case no one has noticed I kind of figured it would be best to give M-SPEC a little break as of late. Things have been hectic for everyone. We'll probably have a mini-meet soon when Mike and Chad get done with their adventures in the hills of Schofield. Plus I think it would be cool to get as many people together as possible to hit up the Street Car ShowOff to support Chris and the other guys who are entering. I can't make it down until that Sunday so I'll leave someone else to figure out which night is best and such.

As for these positions, it looks like Neal will be the Treasurer and Chris will be the Events Coordinator. I still need to talk to Mike to get everything figured out officially, but I would say it's all pretty well set.

yup...i'm going to go down on saturday :) haha more than likely. who wants to go down? :) imma wear my mspec shirt lol.
