Hey guys,
In the process of getting the ATI cruise put together along with the production and sales of the stickers and T-shirts it became cleared to me that we have the need for a couple more positions within the club. With getting our webpage up as well as hosting bigger events in the future these positions are going to become even more important.
The positions will be, obviously, Treasurer and Event's Coordinator.
The Treasurer will do what treasurers do. Handle the saving and spending of the money the club accumulates via either fund raising or sales of apparel. (M-SPEC will never collect dues, but in the future we may sell T-shirts, hats, and stickers with a little tacked on to the production price to help pay for things.) I will act as the Comptroller in so much as I will assist with and monitor the treasurer's fiscal transactions, as will whomever succeeds me as President. We will be opening a joint bank account that both the treasurer and president will have access to for the purpose of saving for things like a web server if we go that route or to pay the cost of a web hosting service.
The Event's Coordinator will be the point of contact and all around guy (or girl) in charge of making what ever crazy ideas we come up with for meets, cruises, fund raisers, etc. become a reality. The EC will be assisted as much as possible by the president and vice-president and of course all of the club members.
Unlike the Pres. & VP these positions will be appointed rather than voted in. These are volunteer positions who Mike and I will choose best applicant for each job. However, volunteers need to remember that a good amount of work and responsibility comes with each position. The treasurer will demand less of one's free time but requires a lot of reponsibility. While the EC will be very time consuming, but will allow you to delegate some of the responsibility to others.
Ok, now that I've made both positions sound like major burdons... Who wants to volunteer?
