New Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum 215/50/17

Any updates on the LX Platinums?.... It is time to purchase some new tires for the wifes 08 4 door S Grand Touring and she wants the most quiet tire the northeast will allow. Thanks in advance! P.S. I can't wait to get the stock Goodyear RSA's off of that car.

I'm now at 83,250 miles and there are still 6/32" on the tires. I'm not easy on them either.

I will probably put the new tires on at 90 or 95k depending on how they look at that mileage.

I already have another set in the storage building.

Another set of the LX Platinums? How are they noise/comfort wise? Rain? You didn't by chance have the pleasure of driving in some snow with them have you? Thanks for your response!

You mean displeasure of driving these in the snow. Unless you want to be my source of amusement when I look up "Stupid Snow Drivers" on Youtube, get some actual winter tires.

They are a very good tire, hence the reason I bought them again.

There is rarely snow here in Texas, so I can't help you there. Sorry.

I just got a set of these in the stock size to replace the OEM Toyos. $125 per tire plus mount, balance and alignment. What a difference over the Toyos. Those Toyos really are a piece of cr*p. So much more quiet. Mazda really does this car a disservice by putting those on. I just hope the 60k treadlife warranty is close to advertised on these.

Closer to 40k.

I'm at 6/32 and at somewhere between 34-35k.

Yikes! If that's the case it looks like you could go through the warranty and get about a 30% credit on the purchase of some new tires. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they wear better for me.

I'm not easy on my tires. I'm not abusive either, but it's not like I drive like granny.

I don't mind replacing the tires early. I'd rather spend a little on tires than a $500 deductible because I hydroplaned and ran into a guardrail.
