Does anybody make a new intake manifold for our cars? I just went with a buddy to buy a 2002 A4 with the 1.8t and they have a nice intake manifold that you can tell was made for an FI'd car. Short runners and a can per say. Almost like a log header, with it coming in the side.
I talked to my cousin about it, (he works for Navistar, developing future and current propulsion systems) and he said we would see a significant gain with an IM like the Audi's/VW's. Said ours is way too damn big with too long of runners for a turbo. Said its a waste to have to fill all that big ass thing up with compressed air. Very ineffecient.
If no one makes one for our cars then I'm going to have to do it. I made all of my turbo header, downpipe, etc, I think I can do this. JGS has all the flanges and injector ports I'd need I believe, just have to make the tube and runners.
Would prefer to buy one, but if not then i'll have to do it.
