New INTAKE MANIFOLD protegegarage

Is anyone running your manifold yet? Or the SU manifold?

there are a good number of people who have purchased and/or are running both manifolds. i just recently started carrying them prior to the cold weather so very few of my customers have installed them. the few that have are very pleased with the equipment but thus far have not dynoed them. last person who promised to do that for me was two weeks ago and he has yet to do this.

So who can comment on how their car is running? Is it slower/faster.. slower acceleration? Cause I want one, but I don't want to make my car feel slower without the VTCS.

Any info is appreciated.

I dont have VTCS and all i can say is that it wont hurt your performance... there was no loss of power i could tell, only gains realized across the entire powerband. My intake manifold was pretty heavily ported as well. This is on the stock MSP manifold, not the SU/PG Manifold.

Really, so there was only positive results w/o the vtcs?

So how much of a bump in power did you get? I realize different set-ups make different amounts of power but you know what I mean and can answer the question anyway lol.

Like, was it very noticeable, or just a little bit of mid-topend power increase?

And how easy is it to install because it looks like to me, the motor would have to be taken out??

Blue is stock dyno run, PINK is dyno run with the manifold. Same boost pressure in both tests and no other modifications done.

i removed mine and it pulled from 3000 to 5500 a hell of alot better, im buying protege garage one as soon as i get my paycheck

I can only speak for the one here. It is brand new and the gains are dyno proven. They are cast by an aftermarket company in japan. They are constructed from a 2000 626 IM cast and have been tweeked to yield more gains.

damn, i can understand, but $600 compared to $200. It's obvious which one most people would buy.

Not trying to start a vendor war, I wanna know the diff. between the two though.

Is one ported and the other one isnt?

You guys can answer seperately about what is done to each manifold if that's the only way.

No war, Ken and I have spoken several times regarding the two manifolds. He can speak for his mani, that will work. As far as the price, If I could sell them for $100 or $300 each, we would.

the price has actually increased on our manifold from 199 to 299, so the price gap is not nearly as large as it was. the reason for the price increase is that we have exhausted our supply of inexpensive cores for these manifolds. as cullen said, if he or i could sell each of our own units for supercheap to the community as a whole we more than likely would do so. i am forced to buy cores for double or more what i was paying for them in the past.

i have not had a chance to take a look at a ********** manifold up close and personal so it would be unprofessional of me to make blanket comparisons between my own and cullen's. when and if i can get some hard data either on my own car or on one of my customer's, i will post those dynos, etc. speculation is not going to provide anyone with anything concrete. the only information i can give to this point is that my customers have reported faster spooling, quicker acceleration in the mid and upper RPM ranges and overall the car pulling harder across the board. i have offered to pay outright for peoples' dyno runs and so far no one seems to want to do this for me.

Ken i still need to get mine for your dyno results on that!!! and cullen i would do the same for you to compair... and if u send me one free cullen i would send it back seeing you do not sponsor me and all unless we are looking at that also :)
