- 86' RX-7 modded
my vert was 32K new... I miss that car.
I hope they NEVER bring back the RX- "7"
anytime a maker brings back a "dead" car its usually the end of the line..
rx8 or rx9 ok.. no more rx7's..
name a comback car that made out.
charger.... no go
gto... no go
last made supra.. didnt last (great car but no)
t-bird.... no
name a car thats been out of the us market for 15 years that came back and refired a revolution...
Current body style mustang. Breathed life into the old failing fox chassis cars.
But I agree following mazdas addage there should never be another rx7 since its a whole different car.
Hmm 32k for your vert...that would make me very curious to find out how much mine was brand new
sorry IMO a sports car cant be a 4dr.
the G35 is WAY better of a car hands down
the S2K is much more sporty of a car and is better
the 350Z may not handle as well but has more raw power then the 8
sports cars dont have to have "creature comforts" they should be raw, powerfull, exciting..
IMO the 8 is lack luster.. I enjoy uit, I would like one but to me its not an RX7 and its not a "sports car" it does not have the "pedigree" the RX7 did..
I'm trying to see if there is a car that actually DIED and came back to regenerate a company..
yes my vert had the paper in it it was an 89 vert and liek $32,5xx I think
To put even even more simply, the RX-8 is 60 hp shy of being a sports car and has worse gas mileage then most of the real ones.
So now in true Mazda fashion, they are going to produce a 270 hp car when everyone else is going upwards of 330hp....4 years too late again.
Can't think of too many but the 350z was a huge success coming from the last z car. Toyota brought back the fj and it has been widely popular. The challenger is shaping up to be something good but with chrystler troubles its too little too late. And the camaro looks promising. Bmw has the 6 series they killed that off years ago and now that its back its hugely popular. Vw has the beetle...there might be more but can't think of any more
it is a clutchless trans.. like the Skyline.. it has a brake and accelerator pedal.. has prolly padel shifters behind the wheel for shifting.. and it has a tune box that u can just run it up to a certian predetermined rpm and it will auto shift for you..
GHEY design in other words.. most makes (like VW DSG) have been doing it for a few years.. its nothing special just more money when it breaks..
and IMO u can claim if a car is a sports car or not due to doors..
SPORTS CARS.. from back 30- 40 years ago have been 2 dr coupes with excess power,
now size has nothing to do with it..
The trans isn't too bad. It does suck that its going to be a lot more expensive when it breaks but if its anything like the vw trans it will actually be faster than having a manual
faster, yes, more fun.... no. I LOVE banging gears. If I don't have at least one manual trans car strait through until I'm at least 50, I'll consider myself a failure.
Lol I totally agree its gotta have the third pedal in there...just gives me another way to control the car
