New HiBoost Turbo Kit for 1.6 Proteges

Wow! Another awesome product from HB! A lot of people will be more than happy to have this kit!

Although I have the FS (I go NA), I miss my 00 SE with the ZMD... What a tough little motor!

just to know?

the protege 1.6L automatic transmision with that turbo would the trasmision hold up ?!?!!?!(sssh) till what psi could it work best?!?

OK the FS 2.0 people, i think it's time for us to downgrade to 1.6 and boooooooooost away lol. This is amazing....

auto tranny cant hold to much.. manual can hold around 200whp..

Yes, the 20 psi will be just for testing and with 100 octane fuel. The tranny will take 200 WHP. The turbo should be good for up to 22 psi on the 1.6 litre engine.

I just got the new ACT clutch with an organic disc in and the Haltech is being plugged on Monday. The 2.5 Full catless exhaust is also already in the car.

I will make a video of the run and post it here.

Do you mean the turbo it's self is good for 22 psi or the whole kit is good for 22 psi?

from what he typed the turbo is good to 22psi

engine is good for 20 psi

so i say run 17-18 psi

well, its not quite that simplistic.

an engine is an air pump, so it can move X amount of CFM. the turbo is also an air pump which can move Y amount of CFM. the difference between x and y at maximum efficiency determines the max PSI for a given turbo on an engine.

(all of this is assuming a fairly-restriction free system)

I believe the 20psi number was hinting that the motor can handle it without breaking, unlike the FS-DE.....

bump for pics or video and dyno #'s. and yes, that's what I understood. the engine can handle 20PSI of boost safely, and the turbo 22PSI.
