Just finalized my purchase on a 07 MS3 in silver 22K miles. Wanted to say hello, introduce myself, and had a few questions.

First off it looks like the previous owner installed the mazda speed3 intake, which is fine, I like the sound it produces. Are there any real gains in having this installed?

Next I was looking at the exhaust and it had mazda speed stamped on the side of it, are all stock exhausts like this, or is this the mazda aftermarket exhaust. If aftermarket are there any benefits to this other than exhaust note?

yea the intake actually give you quite a bit of hp in this car.

and yes all ms3 exhausts have the mazda logo

and u dont really need another exhaust, this exhaust is 2.5 inches.
get a test pipe/downpipe.

and bovs are bad for this car.

Your exhaust is already the aftermarket one that made by Mazda itself. Thats why you see the mazdaspeed logo on the tip. Stock exhaust dont have logo and they look shorter for the tip as well. You got a good setup on the car already.

Thanks guys! That's kind of what I was thinking on the exhaust. I have a sticker under the hood that says mazda dealer installed modifications and some part numbers, so am I correct to assume that I'm still under warranty with these items because they were dealer installed?

Oh and no worries, not interested in a BOV, are they good in any car honestly? Just loud and annoying if you ask me.

Forge makes a very good bypass valve but some are put off by the sound it makes. I'm indifferent to the sound now. The valve works great though.

hey didnt say it had a mazdaspeed logo he said MAZDA.

the power of actually reading what the dude asked...

its says mazda = stock exhaust

Look again sparky. The power is MINE!

I dont know much bout the aftermarket BOV. But as for my observation, that thing is only there for the freaking sound "pshhhhhh". Some people encounter problems with those in there. Some of them dont. But I wont ever buy or install that BOV, its kind of annoying for me for spending 200 bucks for just the sound with no other benefit at all. :)

The stock valve is plastic and has shown to be the weak link in a few of these cars. Most, if not all replacement valves have metal internals that can be adjusted to accept greater amounts of boost and hold boost better/longer on stock cars. I noticed a slight improvement in mid throttle applications with my forge valve and noticeable improvement at higher RPMs. The sound, in my opinion, is the draw back. I'd prefer it to be church mouse quiet.

you are under mazda warranty with the mazda installed stuff. be sure the stuff you add is worth the hp to maybe give you warranty issues.

Yea, I understand the risks with mods, I used to own a lightly modded 99 Subaru RS back in the day. In this case I purchased it with these items on it so I'm just trying to figure out exactly what I'm dealing with, prolly should have figured out that before I agreed to purchase (hand).

Just spoke to a friend of mine who drives an MS6... said he knew one guy who had his DEALER install MASDASPEED springs. Same dealer then refused a warranty claim on blown shocks, CITING the aftermarket SPRINGS as the reason!!!

I'm gonna have to go get buddy-buddy with my local dealer's mechanics before I decide to do any mods.
