Its the only pioneer without the fugly trim ring.Wait....who gave you said options? The insurance company? They should just be cutting you a check, I believe.
Anywho...like 1st said the flip face on the Kenwoods has gotten better/most reliable, but not so much that I would try that hard to get another...so yeah, I'd get the newer one if that's the only choice that I had...but your insurance really should just cut you a check for the value of the HU and install and let you go wild with it...at least that's what they did for my old roommate.

Wooh! 650$ that's CDN, right? Did you check on the how much the Pio is? Also...does that mean that they won't give you the 650$? I mean...it's really simple to install a head unit, so that's something you could do yourself.
If their options to you are money or HU, take the money and do it for yourself. That way you have full control over what you put in there.

I still like this unit by Panasonic....but I don't know much about it...
This is also a crutchfield price, so you could probbly find it for less. And it'd cost you less than the Kenwood, I think. There's a couple of models below this one that have exptremely similar looks and features, as well.

Oh yeah...Crutchfield says it doesn't fit in the protege, but I'm not sure why it wouldn't. They have been known to be EXTREMELY wrong, and 1st has tried to have them correct things...but to no avail.

Man, thats a nice HU. I don't think i've seen that one before. I checked out the 922 and it looks pretty sweet. Don't know where i'll get it yet though. I think that my girlfriend wants it installed asap. We're gonna buy one tonight, so any more info on these decks would be helpful....

my new radio....replaced a Kenwood x816 that crapped out....very happy with this unit, sounds great, highly recommend
