We just finished our Supra intercooler kits which came out pretty nice and affordable. We are now considering building one for the Proteges. The question I have for everyone here is would this be of interest to anyone? I realize a few other companies are currently making them already.

Here's some pictures of our Supra kit compared to GReddy's kit.

We estimate the price to be right around $950. The Protege kit would come with everything just as our other kits do (any/all brackets, hardware, intercooler itself, piping). Piping will be available in black or silver powdercoat finish.

Any feedback would be appreciated.... thanks.

the supra kit looks great. if you were to do it would it require cutting stuff like the perrin kit, or be a bolt on like the BEGI FMIC? i already have a fmic, but im sure there are lots of others out there looking, and unless there has been 2000 fmics sold to MS owners, then you still have some market available.

judging by the one above he'll just buy someone elses, and copy it.

plagiarizing-to use and pass off(the idea's or writings of another)as ones own.

nice...thats sexy.

Well I would like one that is safe (meaning keeping the bumper support and rebar). Of course it gotta look nice...did a fantastic job on the supra IC.

A big turn off would be the routing...I like Perrin's routing of the pipes (doesnt go through stock IC location)! And I would like to use my Injen intake.

And finally minimal or no cutting.

Thats all I can think of for an intercooler to appeal to me.

of course price but I reall dont mind if its a good innercooler and slightly above average price. Got my eye on a perrin FMIC...but ddont know if I have the money till fall...(when school money starts flowign again)

injen is not carb legal. atleast it doesnt say on it
all of there intakes are,or aleast pending.if you did not get a little metal sticker with it,then it's either pending(not legal yet),or they forgot to give you one.

but it may have been pending approval when you bought it,and is now,in that case you e-mail injen, they will contact you a few days later with further instuction.

well i had injen i sold it for the perrin now im selling the perrin for the MAM fmic kit that comes with it. i always go back to stock smic when smog check time comes.. even if the intake was legal i dont think BOVs are

it is if it recerculates.

that is hard to beat, but remember you can't use the injen'CARB legal' intake on it.

but I routed my own FMIC,and there aren't many options for routing, unless you moved the A/C accumulator.
Our kit comes with an intake. You don't have to move anything either.

lol, thats funny, worring about a CARB legal intake when the rest of the system isn't CARB legal anyways.... kinda splitting hairs no?

Our intention with routing will be efficiency and ease of installation. I'm not wanting to cut up the front end of my car by any means, but I want to create an intercooler that will be beneficial in most every way possible.

I'm undecided on the bumper support at this point. They're not a safety piece for high speed crashes in the first place.
