and i dont think i will be painting the hood black... but possibly the roof at some point..

You should have the roof wrapped with vinyl. Might be easier than painting it.

don't laugh at this but... would it look the same? i saw a pic of a guy who had his painted and it blended right in with the glass and everything it looked awesome. it looked like the roof of a scion or a veloster.

I think it would depend on the finish of the vinyl but yes it should flow seamlessly into the glass and sides of the roof. You might want to look it up on YouTube to get more info.
