New CX5, paint quality

They advertised what looked to be new and improved paint for the 2017...that red color, sexy as hell. I don't know if it's actually better, but it was marketed as if it had more layers or something. I figured they heard a lot of complaints because the paint on my 2015 liquid silver, while sexy as hell, was very thin and weak.

its above average in that category. I kept hearing how the water based was going to be better then the solvent but just never saw it on any car. The solids in the paint are better, but they just never seem to get as hard or as bonded.

Corvettes rock. Bad orange peal on the lower body panels, but go look at a 10 year old 'vette without any wrap or re-paint. That front end looks damn good given mileage and conditions!
