Mazda 2009 CX-9
I too just want to say hi to everyone in this forum.

I just picked up my 2009 Black CX-9 with luxury pkg and Navi two days ago here in Barrie Ontario.

Had a 2007 Mazda6 GT Sport Wagon for almost 3 years (actually trying to find someone to take over the rest of the four year lease right now). Liked it too, but this CX-9 is amazing! Technology galore!

I setup my iPhone 3G through the bluetooth system for the phone AND bluetooth audio. Works just wonderfully. One thing I ran into was importing my address book - it ran out of space (I have over 800 contacts!)

I ordered the front digifit floorliner front mats and the cargo mat from WeatherTech Canada tonight. I was surprised Mazda didn't have a cargo mat to cover the whole back when not using the 3rd row seats. (I had a Pilot before and only ever used them once in that car, so it will be rare that I will use the 3rd seats).

I also had 3M chip guard installed and had the whole vehicle rust-proofed, paint-protected and scoth-guarded. It's the first vehicle I've actually purchased in 20 years! (I have been leasing all my vehicles).

I'm a little disappointed in the Nav system though. I had a Garmin 755T for my Mazda6 and it is far superior in the maps. I've asked the dealer to check on map upgrades and see if a new owner is entitled to one 'free' upgrade or not. The map disks can be copied easily with any copy program like DVD-Cloner.

I've got less than 500k on it so far, but it is by far the best vehicle I have ever driven (or been in for that matter).

Thank you for reading this and hope to keep in touch and active on this board!

Let us know if the cargo liner is a one piece or two. When I bought my cargo liner from Weathertech, it was a two piece. But somene reported that the new ones are 1 piece which makes it hard to use the 3rd row and store or protect the cargo area.

Btw hope you didn't pay too much for the fabric and rust proofing. Usually those are money makers for the stealership.

Your 3M chip guard, is it just on the light housing or entire front end? Hood, bumpers and quarter panel?

The NAV absolute sucks. Don't need it but Mazda forces upon you in order to get the powered hatch.

Having my own computer business gives me the luxury of knowing people in other business. I swapped a used computer for the entire rust-proofing package!

As for the chip guard, it wasn't on the headlights, but the whole front end and first part of the hood.

According to Weathertech, the cargo liner is a one-piece, but I'll let you know. Since I will probably never use the rear seats, I'm not worried about it. If I know I will need the rear seats, I'll just take the cargo tray out and store it at home.

My rear cargo cover is 1 piece. I've had my CX-9 since Nov 07 and have never had the 3rd row seats up, so it works just fine for me. I can still access the below floor storage too without removing it.

How'd you set up BT audio? I'm a new owner and don't see the option for BT audio in the BT options on the CX9.....(scratch)

Two things - first, the mats are on back order and could be longer than two weeks coming. Oh well.

As for setting up BT Audio - You have to pair your device first so that the system sees it. After you pair the device and you're on the screen where you see the device listed, tap on the device and you'll see a screen where you can tap on connect for phone and audio. Make sure your device is set to allow or use BT. This is the bluetooth audio hookup.
My iPhone works great, except the version on BT audio on the phone does not allow controlling it from the car, i.e. changing tracks etc. You have to do that manually on the iPhone. Other devices may be different.

iPhone 3G now supports A2DP (advanced audio distribution profile).
However, Apple being Apple, they don't allow AVRCP (audio/video remote control profile) on iPhone. Therefore, you can't control track selection, etc.
Most SmartPhones allow both (usually so).
