2016 Mazda CX-5 GT
Hi All,

I just picked up a new CX-5 GT for my wife yesterday. We got rid of a 2010 Ford Escape and while there really is no comparing the two vehicles this is a very nice car. It took me a few weeks of searching to find exactly what she wanted and even more arguing with the dealer to get the pricing we wanted but we are very happy with our purchase. The car is a Soul Red with the Parchment interior, both tech packages, roof rails, backup sensors, and bumper protector. I wanted to sign up on here to make sure we have the resources available to address any issues or concerns we have. I am a member of other car forums for my 2014 Camaro so I will try to be active on here as well. I look forward to figuring out all I can about this car and hope it approves to be very reliable for us. I attached a few pics of her new car. Look forward to chatting with all of you.

-Will

Niiiiice! Congrats on your new CX-5.
I also recently joined the ranks of the CX-5 GT + Tech package owners and the information I found on this forum has been extremely helpful.

Thank you! That is good to hear. I have been on my other car's forum for about 4 years and they have been extremely helpful albeit extremely costly with all the modifications I have done to our weekend car. I am already looking at stuff that I can do to personalize her car a little more than it is. I haven't had the chance to drive her car yet but they gave us a loaner while we waited for them to do the tint and detail the car (they did a horrible detail job so my weekend will be spent cleaning and detailing her car) and I drove that one Monday night and I really like this car.

That color is INSANE !

We originally were looking at the dark blue with the light interior but as soon as she saw the red one on the lot she had to have that. It took me a while to find a red one with all the tech goodies and the roof rails that had the light interior color. I found them with the black interior but being in Arizona black interior just seems like a bad idea.

... backup sensors,
I don't see these small and rounded back-up sensors installed on your rear bumper. Did you mean Rear Parking Sensors or something else? Always wondering why people need Rear Parking Sensors when they have the Rearview Camera?

Great color and it's even better you can keep clean look at front without installing front license plate in AZ!

If you look in the third picture, kind of a side angle of the rear you can see the sensors at the top of the black on the bumper. I used my awesome paint skills to circle them in the attached pic. I don't know why they are on there but it actually is kind of nice to have both the camera and the sensors when backing into spaces or a garage. My '14 Camaro has both and the sensors are a huge help when I back it into the garage to know how close I am to the wall. That car is impossible to see out of so it definitely keeps me from adding a white stripe down the side of the car.

Congratulations, I love my 2015 doing small upgrades at a time. The tint on yours is it 5%, and the rims are they stock ?

Hi All,

The first time we ever laid eyes on a CX-5 or even heard of one was in the parking lot of my eye doctor's office. It was Soul Red and it literally turned our heads! There was a lady just getting ready to leave so we asked her what it was and if she liked it. No....not liked....she LOVED hers! We kinda sorta were in the market for a new vehicle, but weren't in any hurry. Four days later we owned one!! Your car is gorgeous! We are retired, so we took advantage of the dealer incentives on moving out the 2015's and ended up with Liquid Silver Metallic - which is just fine for us. But that Soul Red.......*sigh*

The tint is 20% on all windows but the windshield but they forgot the rear windows had a light tint on them so they're going to redo the front windows to match. The wheels are stock, she loved them so that makes it so I don't have to replace those.

I love the silver too, that or the dark blue are what I would have picked! We were looking for cars but we weren't very serious about buying because we had so much trouble finding what we wanted. Once I found exactly what she was looking for I knew she would go for buying a new car because it meant I could her damn Ford out of my driveway.

wocampb That Chevy is waaayyy to close! I'm still in the "south forty" parking mode! Spend more time looking for a safe zone that I'm probably certifiable.(nervous) Until I get my first ding...... (gah)

That's my daily driver in my driveway, don't worry. We have a very narrow driveway and only two garage spots for right now. My car is gone before she leaves every day anyway. She knows to park far away in her new car like I do with our weekend toy because I'm paranoid of any sort of door dings or scratches. People are just so inconsiderate anymore that I prefer to just keep as much distance from cars as possible.

What's useful is crass traffic alert.

Yeah, she likes that feature. She was playing with the radar cruise control today to see how well it actually worked. Don't think she's ever been so excited about a feature on a car before.
