I deff need a new clutch. My engine is stock but I want a clutch that's gonna take a bit more of a beating . I just need y'all suggestions on what to get .. I don't know much about the differences between brands and stages...

I feel your pain man. Ive never spun tires since I bought my MSP. Everyone says Exedy or Spec but personally I'm going to be the scapegoat and victimize myself with a Ebay clutch. I figure I can wrench and I dont typically beat on my car. If I can save 300$ ytf not?!

Be careful with eBay clutch, they don't hold the power they claim. I got an eBay stage 3 said good to 350 and I was slipping at 250 on dyno. Spend the money and get a reliable aftermarket brand like ACT or Clutchmasters. You won't be disappointed.

Even aftermarket oem replacement brands they get at parts store like NAPA grab hard and spin tires if you're close to stock in my experience.

I have a napa clutch in my stock Mazda 3 and it burns through second like a champ.

Ya I'm pretty close to stock and can wrench so I dont mind taking the risk. Like I said, Itll be worth it if I can save 300$ for the time being. Plus with an MSP I plan on rebuilding the entire thing and upgrading the clutch. TWO OR THREE TIMES!! hahah

yea I was thinking bout Clutchmasters or ACT.. But didn't know what the difference was from all the different options they had..
I ain't gonna lie I abuse the crap out of that OEM clutch but my new one needs to take that abuse a lot be

@osmsp86 I'm out in the Peabody area holla at me if you know of any mazda meets..

Yeah, ACT is complicated lol. There's no stages, you basically have to choose what kind of power you need to hold to
Pick the pressure plate and what kind of engagement you want for your application to choose disk. I got the Heavy duty pressure plate with 6 puck unsprung disk. On/off hard engagement for drag racing and it holds 430 ft-lbs

Ya if you beat on it. Def go quality. I have an MSP. I shift at 3300rpm and top speed 82mph. AKA NO BOOST HAHAH

Sadly man this area is dddddead. There's a New England Mazda Owners Club but even that is ssssoo quiet. Its disappointing.

Aight then let's start it up.. there's a bunch of cats with speed 3's out here and one of my girls has a 6... We could meet up one day on a Sunday...lol

I'm down man. Sunday would def be best, I just got out of work actually LoL Wilmington/Woburn seems to be about halfway from me to Peabody. I would def love to get things zoom freakin zoomin' around here. I see a lot of drivers but no real enthusiasts/die hards. I came from Honda so Im used to sparking a convo anytime "ya dude its a b20 vtec w crower cams and ....." (theft/vandalism stress sucked tho) but with Mazda it seems people are like "It's a Mazda" BLAH.... LoL

Well I'm in Andover with the fam but Ima get in touch wit you for next week or the week after ...

wtf

So I went to my local tuner shop and asked what performance clutches was available and they said there is nothing for the 07-09 models.. does anyone have the later mz3 model with a performance clutch . Stage one or two don't matter at this point .. its for street use but again I kinda abuse it a bit..

Sounds like theyre trying to **** you.... Ebay has SPEC and Exedy available, so somewhere else has to have it also....
